Reset My Computer

My computer was super slow, so looked at options, and reset. I'm in the process of putting everything back on it that I need, such as Word, and Avast, as well as Google and Firefox.
It's been a fun past couple of hours. When I did a scan of the computer it came up with a lot of errors, so resetting it was the best option. The good thing is it's running faster now.
I have most of my documents. I just need to upload Dropbox to have the rest of them.
I worried I had made a fatal error, as I've done in the past when doing a serious reboot of the computer. This time, it was the right thing to do, and I didn't lose anything. In fact, I got one thing back I haven't had in a very long time - my One Note, that had all my phone numbers, addresses, and articles I've posted on here, though that was two years ago.
I also need to get the news feed back from which I found the Good News Stories. It didn't come loaded on like it did before. So things are going to be fun for a couple days while I get it all straightened out.
Otherwise, I have been working on Thread of Evidence. That one is my largest book to date with 757 pages and over 200K words. I'm editing and trying to tighten it up bringing the word count down. Unfortunately in tightening it, I've increased the word count. However, I've just begun the editing and revision process, so I have 700 pages still to go through. It won't be published next week. But hopefully I will have it published this year.
I also watched a couple episodes of Downton Abbey while I had a celebratory dinner of venison and baked potatoes topped with guacamole. Yum! Now on to the next weight loss achievement. Verified weigh in is February 4, which happens to be a Sunday. I'll be weighing at home since the Y isn't open on Sunday.
That has been my day. What was your day like? Thanks for reading.

It sounds like you're making a lot of progress in just about every way! I woke up, quit feeling sorry for myself, then went to have lunch at my dad and his wife's home, and then went to the pharmacy, followed by grocery shopping. I then walked the dog, paid the bills, had two friends drop by, and that sums it up. Very exciting!

It sounds like you stopped feeling sorry for yourself. You had a busy day. Yes, I am making a lot of progress in many areas. I'm not finished uploading all my documents and pictures back on the computer, but I'm getting there. I'll have it finished today.

In times like this, I usually just shut down my PC or transfer files to my portable hard disk drive. I hope your PC is working great now.
My days nowadays are spent looking for online jobs and taking care of some paperwork from my deceased mother. Even though I am unemployed as the moment, I am happy that I am able to recharge my health and rest awhile from stress.
And yes, I have to find time here in myLot since I just got back last month after a 6year hiatus.

@HazySue I'm still working on it, but not for a few days now. I need to figure out something with the story and then I can move forward again. I haven't forgotten it or Uncertain Future either that I started before New Horizons. I want to get this one published this year, and it won't if I don't start working on it.

So, am I. Though I did have a moment of panic. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't access my documents in Dropbox. I needed to download the app. I still couldn't find my documents. I have two e-mail addresses. I found them and started downloading them to my computer. All's good. I still need to download more yet, and should have it finished today.

It's been three years since I bought this laptop, I've been thinking of reformatting it for a while.

This is pretty common, with Windows 10. The computer keeps slowing down, a little at a time. Resetting is your only option, for this slowness to be stopped.

@kobesbuddy No they won't, and I won't need to remember which e-mail address I used to find them.

@just4him Yes, that would be a very wise investment, for you to make. That way, your manuscripts won't ever be lost.

I need to do something with mine. Even though it is plugged in and has a battery, it really heats up. I wish I had more patience with it. Maybe when I feel better...that will happen.

Not so funny. It's typical when you're tightening up to add to it, while at the same time deleting all the dross. Eventually I'll see a decrease in the word count, and I'll have a book worth getting published. I've had a couple people read the rough draft and liked it very much. So, I'll keep up with it.
