What makes you fall in love?

When I fist saw my boyfriend, I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He was the most handsome man I had ever seen. I started hanging out with him because unlike most guys, he was one to maintain a lot of female friendships without expecting anything physical out of it.
I remember the day I fell hard for him. It was the second time we hung out. We grabbed some beers and hung out under the Dillard's parking garage. Which funny thing is where he found his promising career later on. Anyway, it wasn't his appearance anymore, it was his soul. He just seamed to radiate a beautiful energy. I will never forget that day.
Mind you, we do not have much in common . I am the peace loving, rock music loving, hippie lifestyle type of girl. He is a skull and crossbones, rap loving, thuggish type a guy (not a real thug, just the best way to describe him). He is a high school dropout, been in and out of jail, had no job, baby momma drama, alcoholic, and living in his grandmas basement.
Now I don't look to change anyone. I was in a really low point in my life and could careless what the background was, I loved him and that was it. I saw more in him, he's extremely intelligent, and could do amazing things I'm his life.
We ended up getting pregnant early in our relationship. Despite the statistics we are extremely happy. We both have been sober for over a year. He has an amazing career with Dillards. We have a beautiful apartment and daughter. And even when things go wrong such as me losing my job recently, we are genuinely happy to just be together.
So back to my initial question, what makes you fall in love? What is the reason you stay in love?

For me it's not the looks. Sure if someone is beautiful, it's a plus, but it's not the deciding factor. It's the energy and chemistry between me and the other person that makes me fall in love.

Honestly is one of the most important things to have in a relationship. It goes along with trust. Without those two, there is no point in continuing the relationship. Thats why if my boyfriend and I ever fought, it is never over those two things, we do not tolerate that kind of drama.
