Jim Caviezel is promoting a new movie entitled Paul, the Apostle. We can expect a treat come March, perhaps in time for Advent, because the Saul story that became Paul, the Apostle, is the most fearless dissemination of the Gospel of Jesus.
This new millennium, Jim Caviezel comes closest to that brave apostle Paul, and Jim is as vocal, thus far, aside from the clergy, the staunchest voice of the faith.
Here he is.
Jim Caviezel speaks to 8000 college students with a surprise appearance on January 3, 2018. New movie with James Faulkner Paul, Apostle of Christ comes out i...

I really hope it will be accurate and well produced. Too many Christian films are so amateurish that no one takes them seriously. The Case for Christ was very well made.

Vicki, I will watch The Case for Christ and then get back to you for a comment.
Okay ,thank you for The Case for Christ, I liked the movie very much. It was one skeptic's journey to discovering Christ, All he wanted to do was to prove Jesus did not die, thus negating the Resurrection. Evidences proved otherwise. I loved the line "Okay, God, You win."

I saw a preview and it looks like it might be done right. A lot of biblical movies lately have not been accurate at all.

Jim Caviezel is a stickler for the truth. His movie will be faithful to the story. I am excited to watch the film. I love Paul the Apostle very much. His character is very defined, no cowardice in any way.

@eileenleyva I hope they put the emphasis where it belongs and don't make him a superhero. While Paul displayed much courage he was no superhuman. His strength and courage came from God. (1 Corinthians 2:3; 2 Corinthians 7:5; Philippians 4:13)

@1hopefulman hmmm, I am a superhero fan. In the battle of good versus evil, like Wonder Woman overpowering Eris, the god of war, I have always cheered for the lovely Amazon princess.
No, we are not talking about the feel good movies of super human strength. We are talking about a specific character with tremendous resolve to perform his duty, even if the acts were wrong, and how he made a complete turn around when our Jesus called him for the service. Paul was the greatest salesman of Christianity. He was written in the Acts, and his Epistles we quote today. That makes him extraordinary. We can't be even compared to the greatness of Paul, whose name was changed from Saul meaning big, to Paul, meaning small. In his desire to humble his self, he became great. His writings alone, I am overwhelmed, and of course that blessing came from God. As I acknowledge my simple but good life is a blessing from God.

Not sure about faith. I seem to have one doubt too many. So standing up for "faith" would seem a bit clannish rather than actual conviction. But if there is some dispute about what is right in my faith, or for that matter any faith, I am brave enough to stand up I think for it.

vanny, faith implies absolute belief. It is paramount doubts are cast away, else the faith is not true nor sincere. It is not faith at all.
Faith presupposes courage/ We defend faith with our very lives.

@vandana7 Man is the culprit. For his own vested interest, he has corrupted the edicts handed down through generations,
However, God is all knowing. He is the Supreme Creator and has made life upon us. Life consists of good and evil, as man stubbornly defied the wishes of the Supreme Being. God is all good and forever fair,
You are correct. We may not understand fully why things happen the way they do but God is just. He does not commit mistakes,

@eileenleyva There are many things that are said to be part and parcel of my religion, which I do not believe they are because they do not sound just and fair as god must be. So I believe it is somebody who manipulated holy scripture to their benefit. To that extent, my faith rests on presupposing that god is fair and just and reasonable.

The Acts of the Apostles is a trying time for the apostles. They lost their lives bringing the Gospel to the world. Paul was the greatest salesman of Christianity, he went around the Mediterranean to tell the Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Philippians, Collossians, Thessalonians, Hebrews, etcetera about our Lord, and he lost his life for that.
Good thing Luke wrote the Acts for us to know their stories.

t@TheHorse How could the sorrowful passion of our Lord not touch you. It was so intense I cringed at the flagellation. Imagine, the Lord endured all the lashes. Sigh.
And there is no comparison. The Passion is the story of Calvary. The story of Paul is that of a persecutor called by Jesus to spread the faith. Paul never even saw Jesus.

I am sorry I am unable to follow where from the faith has errupted all of a sudden from a movie? We have 'N' number of such movies released now and then and we also have number of daily mythological serials on TV Channels, which people watch and enjoy like any other serials or movies...yes some people add to their knowledge about the theories put forth! But believe me no one from our Country would believe or would change their beliefs just because of a movie or a television Serial! Thanks @eileenleyva ! Have a great time!

Yes. I am not privy to your culture, too. But I enjoyed the 3 Idiots. More or less, I had a glimpse of India of the modern world,
By the way, many of your wealthy people have come to live in my country. One of our posh mall has a restaurant especially for your people.

I am a Jim Caviezel fan. All his movies are good: Pay It Forward, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Passion. This Paul, the Apostle story, as claimed by the production, is faithful to the Great Book, Then, this is exciting enough to look forward to. A real breather from a world pervaded by fake and gruesomeness, really.

I am partial for anything that is drawn from the Great Book. I enjoy movies that animate the stories I've come to love dearly through the years. Paul is a favorite. Luke, too.
