Gifts for All!

I didn't watch the Golden Globes but since I don't live under a rock, I couldn't help but see all the news about Oprah and how her minions want her to run for President in 2020. I don't watch her show and I don't know much about her politics but I do know one thing about her: she likes to give out gifts. Diamond watches, all-expense paid cruises, flat-screen t.v.s, and refrigerators... So I wonder, perhaps she'd do the same thing if she was Prez! What would YOU like Oprah to "give away" should she run and win the Presidency in 2020? Me? I'm hoping for a brand new CAR! Or maybe a horse. I'll take a Bashkir Curlie, thankyouverymuch!

@Genipher it comes from government taxes and i realize taxes would be raised but that should just be those that can afford high taxes. and our government officials should not be getting so much extreme salaries. other countries have figured it out. we should too

@bunnybon7 I agree government officials shouldn't get such a high salary. But if health care costs are paid through taxes then they're not really "free"...someone is paying for them. Those that can afford the high taxes...like rich people? Why do we, as a people, punish those that are successful or are good at investing?

I've always wondered how free health care would work. How do doctor's get paid if their services are free? Health Care is, I agree, crazy expensive. Something there has to change.

Oprah did those gift giveaways, to claim them on her taxes, to get that cash back in her pocket! If she became our President, I'd leave the country in two minutes.

I didn't realize! I thought she just had a giving heart. Poo! I should've known there was an ulterior motive.

I haven't watched that show much so I didn't realize she liked to give out gifts. I do remember Ellen Degeneres doing that.

I don't watch either of them, but Oprah's gifts came to my attention quite a few years ago.

A new house for me to live in as I am having to find another one which I can afford. I saw her the other day on the Television but I missed all the thing about her giving anything away.

@Genipher I like Oprah and hearing her speak too its sort of different how she comes across she knows how to reach the hearts of people. Perhaps she might become President I hope so it would be so different I would say.

She used to give things away on her show. I just figured if she was used to doing that, perhaps she'd continue if she ever became President. Yeah, houses right now are CRAZY expensive.

I think she prefers to continue to run her show, I do not believe she will run for President. I do not see her win.

Does she still have a show? Another poster said it was canceled. I have no clue since I don't watch t.v.

@Genipher - shes too much of a micro manager, she wont be able to trust other people to run her business while she does the whole presidential run thing.

She's doing pretty well with her show, etc. But I bet after all the hullabaloo she's tempted to run...
