i know basics on guitar. its up to you as to what you are going to put the time in to learn.
drums are loud and you need a dedicated space to leave them in. buying a bongo drum or similar can always be done.
violin can be carried in a case.
you can always find lessons on youtube.

@batwings - if youre confused about which instrument to learn, then you dont really want to learn an instrument. if you know anyone with an instrument, go play thiers and see if it feels natural. the type of music you listen to will also affect your decision.

I love playing the guitar but I'm not good at it at all. Sometimes I am just content being able to strum some chords to songs that I like and so I have an instant accompaniment. I can also play simple chords on the piano but I cannot read notes at all.

I too get bored and give up before learning the new things. All you need is a little push

I would suggest you learn piano. Piano plays a good tune it can make a sad person feels happy just by hearing it and also you can play piano when you are already old whenever you are alone and lonely.
