Last night I talked about my 17 year old daughter. Today I want to talk about my 15 year old son. He is staying with his dad while I am looking for a bigger place for us to live. He hates being there, and today I took him to the doctor's because he's had some complications from the flu. It really aggravated his asthma and we are hoping it hasn't turned into bronchitis like his younger brother and sister.
Anyway, seeing him today made my day. I am so happy that I got to see him. We talked, he helped me shop for groceries, and I bought him laundry essentials, because apparently the supplies at his dad's house aren't satisfactory. It made me laugh. He likes his laundry nice and soft, like I do it, and they buy cheap products and no fabric softener. So I bought him some small containers of the good stuff, and he was happy.
He said that he definitely didn't want to stay at his dad's even though he thinks they want him to. I promised him that I would find a place soon, so he could come home. He's such a great kid. I don't know how I got so lucky.
This picture was taken at Christmas. This is my mom, me, my brothers, and our families. Six of the kids are mine, three are my brother's. My family is on the right. The boy with a blank expression? That's my oldest son, who will be 20 in March. The smiling young lady next to him is my 17 year old daughter who despises me most of the time. The guy in the back trying to see over everyone is my husband. The boy in the green Minecraft hoodie is my sweet 10 year old son and he is holding my 1 year old daughter, who wanted to look back at all of us, instead of the camera. Next to him in the dress and the curly hair is my precious 5 year old daughter who just loves everyone. The tall pink haired boy with his arm around his momma is my 15 year old son. He gives me hope that they won't all grow up into monsters lol. We are a lot alike, and I'm so happy for him. He came to me at a time in my life when I thought my whole world would crash down if I had another child, but he made it so much better.
The other little boys are my brother's and sister in law's. My youngest brother is on the far left next to my mom with my brother and sister in law next to her. They are amazing. It was a great Christmas.
When I had my eldest son, I was 19. I remember going back to my childhood home that my uncle then lived in, and went to see my elderly neighbor. My brother and I spent many afternoons chatting with her when we were little. She invited me in and I introduced her to my son. She told me one day he would grow up to be my best friend. Although she was wrong about him, it was my second son that I know will grow up to be the best friend I'll ever have. There is something about mothers and sons; a bond that is there from the beginning. My oldest son is so introverted and he can't stand the extrovert that I am. My 15 year old gets me though, and I get him because I feel like I've been through all of the feelings he is experiencing as a teenager. He's a good kid, and I'm proud to be his mother.

You have a great family and look at that picture, it tells as it is. It really doesn't have to be perfect otherwise, how you would know if it's a family with out problems? I'm sure your daughter loves you even though she despises you. One day she will tell how much she loves you.

My son is two, I'm looking forward to being his bestfriend too :) Reading this is fun and made me excited about him growing up so we can bond together.
