The best way to deal with clutter is to do it every day. Toss the junk mail as soon as it walks in the door.clean the areas that gather clutter foten every week would be good to keep it from getting out of hand

I would have to do it every month, which isn't a bad idea!

Hi! These are some basic rules that I have picked up over the years. As far as bills, keep copies until your statement comes. When you have confirmation your previous month has been paid, throw the statements out. Magazines, etc, if you want to keep them, file them someplace out of the way, or give them to someone else who will read them. Another general rule for clothes, etc, if you haven't used or worn it in the last 6 months, get rid of it. Books, keep only what you'll read again, pass the rest on or resell them. Go through your mail as soon as you get it, file bills, file things you need to respond to, and throw the junk mail away immediately! That will keep it from piling up on you. I hope these tips help you!

You seem very organized! I have followed some of those things you listed. I just have to set a date to do those things so I can be consistent!

Hahaha, yes . . . it's the evil that lurks in those boxes and junk drawers. Or wherever you find the room to stuff things in. Mine is right on the floor. It's bad!

I am not sure... dh says burn it down which means burn the house down and start over...however he is just joking... I am learning that totes are working wonders and put in closets...Take items you want to save and put like items in totes... mark with marker and put them in the closet. If you do not want to save then just throw it away or if it is worth anything list it on ebay...if you have something you are not sure you will want later or not... put it in a tote... put in the garage or basement and if you do not open it up for a year than throw it... chances are you won't want it. good luck...

Totes can be costly, but I guess you need the clutter down. I have bought several totes when they were on sale. What I didn't expect was to be doing the whole family and running out of totes for me.

I know! But there are things that I need to keep. I'm weak to clutter. Arrrgh, I wish I had money to get it done like on one of those shows.

Do you mean what is clutter? It's stuff that lays around and isn't appealing to the eyes. Basically junk. Not all of it but it just lays around. Here there everywhere. Like when kids don't put thier toys away.
