Is Harvest Moon better than Animal Crossing? I remember reading reviews rating Animal Crossing as a much better version of Harvest Moon. I currently play Animal Crossing but not as much as when I first started out. If Harvest Moon is great, I could consider getting a copy of that game

I love Animal Crossing. I used to play it everyday for hours on Gamecube. It is time consuming. I play it every once in a while. It's fun to stop playing for a while, then to pull all the weeds and other things. It gives you something to do on it.
I have Animal Crossing DS, but unfortunately my DS drowned in my cat's water bowl. The game was even in it and it's perfectly fine and didn't get wet! Hopefully, I can buy a DS Lite with my tax check next month.

I haven't played it in a very long time. Addicted to other things and I don't have the time like I used too. But you make me want to play it again!

Oh no. Poor you. I like the DS version of animal crossing. I still hate writing letters even thought they are easier on DS.

It is a great game because there's no violence, no set timeline you have to follow and the concept is easy to understand.

Addicted at an early age. Hahaha. It's really nice for kids, all the great colors and the different seasons. I think that it's just a great game. If I get a DS lite. I think I'll get a game for that system. Now that's addicted!

Have you tried it on DS. It's great interacting with people and having them come to your town.

I would first have to have money to buy a DS. I wish they would put the DS version out for gamecube.

I haven't played the one for my DS in like 2 months. I'm sad because i had the monkey's that Toys'R' us was promoting. I mean giving away. I also had the mario stuff. When I get time we should get each other's friend code. Wi-fi is fun with the game!

Cool. It will probably have to wait until next year. Like mid January. It seems that mylot takes most of my time along with household and my family life.

I loved this game and for me it was one of the few gems on the GameCube, even if it was a little odd!
I imported a US version and an eReader (I live in Europe) and I just got sucked into the game. I think the US version is a lot better then the European one, but that could have been because I love the eReader.

I like the DS version better than the GC one. I'm sure you would love the ds version if you had it. Letters are easier to write but still a pain.

Nintendo fans consider me as one who has crossed to The Dark Side...I now have a PSP and I'm going to get a PS3 soon too...I'd look forward to a game like that on those formats!

My kids and I used to play all the time, but not too much anymore. I was totally addicted at first and would play every day, but I started getting bored with it and havn't played it in several months. I like Harvest Moon too, ut don't play it often.
My kids both have DS's and have Animal Crossing for them and Harvest Moon (for the advance), they are fun to play every once in awhile when my kids let me play.

I absolutley love this game. I just got it for X-mas for the GC. Are there any games that are like this but not as time consuming? I've heard about the Harvest moon game (is that the name of it?) but Im not a person whos very fond of planting or whatever.

I've also heard of the harvestt moon, but I'm too chicken to get it. Plus I'm a big pokemon fan. So I'm currently catching up with those games.

When I first got my Game Cube, Animal Crossing was my very first game and I played it non stop. My husband got irritated after awhile because I spent all of my free time playing it. But I haven't played in like a year and a half and I don't plan to any time soon. It got boring after awhile doing the same thing over and over again. I got my niece in to it though and she is as hooked as I was. Now I play Harvest Moon but I haven't even played that in awhile either. Probably been about 3 months since I played Harvest Moon. :)

I had Animal Crossing for the Gamecube and have just got it for the DS. It's much better playing it on the DS because there's no longer a battle in our house for who uses the tv - I can watch tv and play the game too! It also seems less hassle to switch it on and put it away after 5 minutes. So as you've probably guessed i'm addicted to the game.

That's great! Have you gone to the online community for animal crossing. Just look up animal crossing community. You should be able to find it right away. There are so many people on there that are helpful.

I may be alone on this but I really don't like the DS version. I don't like how they took out all the major holidays like Christmas, Valentines Day and Halloween, and I don't like the whole wilting flowers thing. I personally think it is a big pain to have to go around watering flowers. I also find it harder to make money since you have to wait for the villagers to ask you to do something for them. There are a few things about it that are great, like a bigger variety of fish and fossils but overall I have to say that I like the Gamecube version much better.

I'm sure your not alone. I didn't like the making money thing either, but it was a lot easier with wifi. I got to make more money that way. Also, I'd make a killing off the flea market.

I used to play Animal Crossing:WW on the DS alot, but eventually simply got tired of it. The online can be fun, however, I find it tedious to track down someone's friend code. I think there should instead be an online lobby of sorts where you can search for open cities and just jump right in. Other than that, it's a pretty fun game, but I can consider myself over it.

Ya, I know that it can get old and your idea about a lobby is great! I wish it wasn't such a daunting task of choosing a "friend" to trade codes with. It sucked that there are people that can't be trusted.

I used to play the game cube version all of the time, and ironically, I just thought of it the other day. I'm sure it's been over a year now for me, and I did everything possible, right down to the statue near the train station. It was my daughter's game, but she tired of it quicker than me, and my daughter-in-law and stepson used to play too. Somehow life got in the way, but it's a great game, and very creative. I'm sure if I were to try to go back to it, my house would be crawling with bugs, not to mention the weeds choking everything, and the fact that most of my animals have likely moved out of my town, or can't remember me at all, and are really ticked off ... oh well, life goes on. Maybe I'll check it out one of these days again, and see what happens after all of this time.

I was curious too. And one day I looked at the town, I think most of my townies were still there but there were a ton of weeds. Too many! I wish my lazy townies could help out!

I love Animal Crossing but I haven't played it in a long time! The trouble is, I found the secret codes to get lots of money, so after about a month I had everything there was to have, even the statue in front of the train station. So it was sort of pointless then. Plus I didn't have anyone to swap memory cards with. My nephew used to play it, but by the time I got mine, he was already bored with it! ::sigh:: It was fun while it lasted!

I used to play it all the time on my GameCube, but once I caught all the fish and bugs and such, I got bored so I quit playing for a while. I just got a DS for Christmas, though, and Animal Crossing, so I started playing a little again, but not as much as when I first got it for GC. It is super time consuming, but also super fun!

You can get ahead by inviting friends over and it makes it easier. I tried playing my gamecube version and got bored in a day. Hope you like the ds version more.

Well, I only have the DS version. I got my DS at Christmas '05, then AC: WW for my b-day in February '06. My two friends also got it later in '06. I played it a lot. Had to restart a few times... :( It does take a lot of time, but taking things slow keeps it fun for a little longer. You can still play for hours and hours a day, but don't try to rush everything and have a big to-do list... :)
Anyway, I actually played it again today for the first time in 5 months. :) Plan to play it again. Want a DS Lite and some new games like Pokemon and stuff instead of PSP junk. ^.^"

When I first got the game for Gamecube, I would play it every day from the day I got until about 7 months later. I remember putting in a 4-6 hr. session once. After that, I got bored with it and gave some of my other Gamecube games some attention. I've come back to it since then. I've started a new town and I was playing it almost every day for awhile. I got bored with it after awhile. I don't think I've played it since last November. I've got 80 other Gamecube games, after all! I have thought about buying the DS version, though. I wish it wasn't still $34.95.

It changes for me. Sometimes I'm really into it and obsessed and can't stop playing. Then I go months without even visiting my town. The one day I'll decide to pick it up again.
