I am planning to write more discussions on this in the future but at this time I want to discuss people who refuse to believe in a "fairy tale" and/or "invisible man in the sky" and all of the other things that people call God that don't believe in him. First let me say, everyone has a right to believe in what they want and I'm not here trying to judge. I am here to tell you what I believe to be the truth and first things first, I believe there is a God. Some people don't though and again that's their decision but let me give a scenario that I hope will help you to stop and rethink things if you don't believe. Let's say you're a Christian and you believe in God and you pass away/die. What happens in Christian belief? They go to heaven. Now let's say you don't believe in God and you die, If you're right and there is no God then nothing happens, your just dead. But, If you are wrong and there is a God and everything written is true and you die, you end up in hell. Now I don't know about anyone else but, I personally would rather take my chances believing there is a God and that heaven is waiting in the next life rather than believing that there is no God and end up just dead in the ground or be wrong and end up in hell. Now again everyone is entitled to their own choices, God himself gave us that freedom. I hope this helps some people to stop and rethink things if you're not a believer. I believe heaven is a real place and I also believe hell is a real place and I don't wish for anyone to end up in hell for simply refusing to believe in what can be proven just by looking around. (Not man made buildings)

I believe in God and I believe in Jesus. I like to get your thoughts on this question. If heaven or hell is our ultimate goal then why did Jesus say that the meek will inherit the earth? (Matthew 5:5)

I don't think so much in terms of heaven and hell as ultimate goals, but in terms of eternal life. Jesus said in John 17 that eternal life is "to know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. Our eternal life begins when we receive Jesus into our lives as our Savior. Our spirit is united with Him then, we become new creatures, and He lives within us from that time on and forever. We then live forever with him. The Sermon on the Mount, where you got your quote about the meek inheriting the earth, isn't talking about the afterlife.

Logic: If God exists, then God can be found.
God can be found. Perhaps, if one really wants to know, one would venture into undiscovered country and Discover the Truth for themselves rather than rely on mere beliefs.
God is at a Higher Level, right? Of course. Would a Higher Level really fry His kids or use the threat of Hell to gain believers? Mankind has their hand deep into religion. Perhaps, to find God, it would be easier to let mankind's stories go. Just like all the physics of this world add up completely, so does everything about God.
Question instead of accept. I have found no religion that understands God. On the other hand, they all carry pieces of the puzzle within them.

@gimitchelray Because your children deny you doesn't mean they are not your children. Men on Earth have to pay child support for their creations regardless of how they get along. Isn't God at a Higher Level than the men of Earth?
What about Justice? What crime could justify burning in a fiery pit for all eternity without the possibility of redemption? I can't think of any.
This brings one to the question: Does God have emotional insecurities concerning others accepting Him? Are these insecurities more important than what is best for His children?? Is frying for eternity best for anyone?
Clearly, there are a million questions to ask since so much does not add up.
Everything about God does add up. If what you see does not add up, it is not God. Mankind has their hand deep into religion.
It is important to Question if one really seeks Truth. Blindly accepting even long held beliefs can lead one away from the Real Truth rather than toward it.
Like you said. One can choose their Beliefs and that's OK. On the other hand, should one choose beliefs over Discovering the Real Truth. I could never do that.

God doesn't "fry" his children. He punishes those who he has clearly have the gift of life to that still try to deny him. Those aren't his children.

@bird123 God's ways are not our ways (a quote from the bible). Just because we don't understand why God does certain things doesn't make us right.

@gimitchelray How would you be able to know if he's really answering any prayers?
