I'm Home - Time to Warm Up

I know when I left this morning the wind chill was around -13. It was very cold, and never warmed up.
I went straight from the brunch this morning to my son's. I wondered if the car was going to warm up before I got there, and it did, but I was still chilled to the bone.
I only had one load of laundry today, so I wasn't there too long. Now I'm home. I'm so glad I turned the heat on this morning. It felt very good walking into the apartment. I'm now enclosed in my office with the heater on. I'm still trying to thaw out my feet.
I did get some interaction done while I was at my son's, so I'll be caught up with my notifications again soon and then I'll be working on my book. I did get a couple chapters done this morning before I left. The word count is coming down, slowly. I'm about half-way through this edit/revision. I still want to work on New Horizons, but I'm caught up in Thread of Evidence, so I will get this first run through on it done before I go back to it.
I just might need to take a hot shower to completely thaw out. We'll see.
How was your day? Almost dark again. It feels like I accomplished a lot. Thanks for reading.

@just4him Wow, I would never leave my house again if it was that cold. Please stay safe and warm.

You get used to it in Wisconsin. I looked at the weather map this morning before I went to church and we've got Arctic air coming our way again. Though we do have cloud cover today and it did get into the plus range, but still cold. Snow will be starting in a few hours and continue all day tomorrow.

@misunderstood_zombie I haven't read that, but the Arctic cold we've been having, has lasted longer than usual and is colder than usual. I'm finally warm and turned off the heater, though I might turn it back on again.

@just4him I hope it warms up for you soon, that's just crazy cold to me. I read somewhere that some parts of the Northeast were as cold as Mars.

We keep our temperature at 69 degrees and I have to wear two pair thick socks with slippers, a cami, sweatshirt and jacket, long johns and joggers with a robe over all that and then sometimes I have to put a blanket over me to boot. I get chilled to the bone and its very difficult for me to get warm. Even in summer months I get cold. Our home stays cool and so I dress warm then I get out in the sun and start warming up. The only time I can honestly say I feel warm is when I'm exercising. So I can say; "I understand"!

@just4him I was turning our down to 65 at night but my husband said not to turn it below 67 as it takes a long time to warm up in the morning, so I've just been leaving it at 69. I still have to put layers of clothing including my husbands long johns LOL! The only time he needs them is when he's hunting so I'm good for the rest of the winter LOL! Stay warm sweet lady! God bless you in a special way today! He loves us so much, He is such a good good Father!

If I kept my thermostat at 69 chances are it would be even lower for the true temp. I turned it down to 66 at night during our real cold snap to find it around 62 when I got up in the morning. I need to turn my heat up to almost 80 just so it will be 72 in the apartment. I talked to the office about the temp differences, and the maintenance guy said the thermostats are never true to temp.

Hope it didnt take too long to thaw. I'm somewhat cold here, with it 31°out side and 70 something inside.

Though you can have it. I don't want to see 80 not until summer and not even then. Too warm for me. I'll keep my cooler temps, though these cold ones I can do without. Need to push the Arctic air out of here and resume our normal January weather.

I woke up today, ate some left over fast food from what mom bought and then bought veggies for her latest dish.

Thank you for the advice. I did get warm and then went to bed early last night. It was nice and cozy under the blankets.

Just like you, I take a very warm shower and then put lots of heavy clothes on. Jay and I went to the city yesterday. Coming home, the heater didn't work in his truck, we were very cold! He stopped at a Dollar Store and bought a blanket, for my feet:) It's very cold in Michigan, too.

I'm sure it is cold in Michigan too. I hope Jay can find out what happened to the thermostat in the truck. Sounds like it needs a new one. I'm glad you got a blanket for your feet.
