Why do you think people slam doors or have to make so much noise?

I think people do both because either they want attention or do not care who they bother? I have been told that some of the doors get stuck. I wonder why they get stuck from slamming so much. The boy across from me has a problem with slamming his door and he has a little child. I asked him once why he does it and he slipped by telling me he did it before he had a child but he still does it. Nothing more to say except pray that someone nice to come live there and they will go. The ones before them were bad too.
Do any of you experience that? I do not know why it bothers me but in the bedroom I do not hear the one above me make noise because my white noise machine is great. I mentioned to him and he stopped and I thanked him next time I saw him and then he is back to it. Nothing more can do. He does it during the day.

I don't like that sound either. I still slam my car door too hard, because we once had a car that had really heavy doors that had to be slammed. I don't think it's good for the door, but I keep forgetting.

Rhonda, you forget that you do it but this guy does it on purpose and then people wonder why they cannot close their doors. I try to close mine quietly. I am far from perfect but on our Sabbath I would like peace and quiet and that guy above us goes to town. He has no respect.

@Hannihar I don't blame you, I hate to hear apartment doors slam, maybe you could talk to the landlord.

It is a shame they have to slam doors like that. I've never really had to live close to people like that but I can imagine it would bother me too.

I have talked to the guy. He just does not care. He also lies. He told his wife that he helps me all the time. Once when I was one step away from my apartment he came running up and asked if he could help. I waved him away. He is good at causing me trouble though. He had lots of people over and the next day I started to go down the steps with my grocery cart and fell down the steps. After I fell he cleaned the steps. I thought someone put cucumber on the step and saw some in the corner below.

I think some people express their disappointment and annoyance by slamming the doors. But mainly such people are selfish and do not care about others.

@Hannihar yes, but it is sometimes impolite to slam a door right in front of somebody whom you have just communicated with.

One time I was at my door and cannot remember if opening or closing and the lady across the way was going in her apartment so I waited to see if she would slam the door like her husband does.

It could be many things. Rebelling against something, they could be angry about something or it just might be that they don't realize how hard they're doing it until it makes the loud noise. Bad habits are very hard to break.
I hope it gets better for you!

Thanks CountryGirl. I talked to the boy across the way and he let it slip that he slammed the door before he had his daughter but he still does it. I made a noise here to show him what it is like and he went out and slammed it again. I just pray that they will move and we will finally get decent neighbors. The ones before them were not any better.

CountryGirl, people are too much. It so sad they do not see they are in the wrong and play like they are the victim. How sad people can be. I learned that there is no perfect neighbor or perfect world. I wish you luck.

@Hannihar For your sake, I hope they move too. Decent neighbors are hard to come by. Right now I'm in the middle of two a$$holes. One side, they like to throw things over the fence like inflatable balloons and other things. Then demand that we throw them back over. When asked why they didnt just come and get them or better yet stop throwing them in my yard, they replied because they could do what they wanted. So I threw their stuff back to them but not before I popped them. After the 3rd popped ball, they stopped throwing the stuff over the fence.
Now on my other side, they are very anal about their white fence. It's a white plastic fence that they actually put on my property. When asked about that, they said they needed the extra 2 inches for their lawnmower to fit between the house and their fence so I figured no big deal, what's two inches.
Well then I mowed my yard, had just finished and they came storming out of their house. Screaming at me that I had gotten grass all over there white fence. Said they were going to call the town on me if I didn't clean it off and never do it again. I said go ahead and call the town. When they get here, we can discuss you taking the fence down and moving it since it's on my property by 2 inches.
Haven't heard a peep out of them since and they mow both sides of the fence so no grass gets on it.
The way I deal with my neighbors though is probably not how everyone should deal with theirs lol.

That would have annoyed me too. I think for some people are so used to do it that it becomes some sort of a habit for them.

I bet most of the time it’s caused by anger, but maybe it’s just a accident.
