I Am So Proud Of Myself

Last year I bought a printer for here in Florida. I put it in the spare bedroom and told myself I needed to set it up. I never worked up the courage to try. I was afraid I was going to have a problem loading the ink cartridges and getting my laptop to see it. As it turns out, since my other laptop died, it is just as well.
This week I decided it was time to pluck up my courage and just do it. So I did. It was a little trying to get the cartridges in but not as bad as I expected. I had to download some stuff to get the laptop to recognize it but I did that too and printed a page. Success!! Now I have got my Firestick to work and the printer, I am on a roll!! I am not quite as inept as I thought!!

I find printers the easiest items to install. Anna is right about downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website. If I buy a new printer I throw the driver CD away and visit the website because the drivers and software may have been upgraded since the CD was created.

@BelleStarr Yes, the supplies CD would have worked fine but the latest drivers often provide extra features.

You are better than I am with tools, I have to ask my kids for help and often it ends with a phone call that lasts a long time as my son talks me through the process..

I am sure it is but I am more of a user than a techie person, I am comfortable with using a computer but anything beyond that is quite beyond my ability.

@BelleStarr I hate to install printers, this is why I go to their site, download the latest drive and follow the instruction.

Congrats! I've been able to hook up printers before, but hope to help a friend hook up her dvd player. Now, that's something I've never had to do. I figure if I can't manage it I'll have my husband go over to help us out.
