I feel an itch in my throat...

United States

I hope this doesn't mean I am getting sick! I haven't been sick in a while. I hate being sick, it's so uncomfortable! I lose all my energy and have a hard time sleeping because of the congestion. Horrible combination, nothing worse than being so tired and wanting nothing more but to sleep but can't because you are so uncomfortable. I am really hoping this itch in my throat will go away and not turn into something more.

I recommend a lot of lemon, lemon is good for the throat and also for vitamin C in the body that prevents the flu. Also, take some mint syrup.

I prefer oranges over lemons for vitamin C, lemons are too sour! Mint syrup? Never heard of that.

I'm out of orange juice, been drinking it the past couple of days. Hopefully that will help. Also, drinking a lot of water to stay hydrated.

@MikesAngel317 good job,it`s easy to take pills but i like more home made remedies. Try fresh lemons squeeze direct on your throat, it seems horrible but it really works.

If the itch is bacterial and not viral, what I do is just gurgle with mouth wash, if I suspect viral I would go with the other post, Vitamin C and rest to build body resistance.

I think I have been keeping myself well-hydrated, I drink almost nothing but water throughout the day.

I hope it isn't what I think it is. But if it is, then you are going to stay bedbound for a while.

You need some cough syrup otherwise this itch will convert in to cough.

I am starting to feel a bit of congestion too, running down my throat. I have some Nyquil, maybe that will help.

Boil water with stone salt in it then let it come to warm such as you can bear the hotness then gargle with it before going to bed and early in the morning before brushing your teeth. I am sure it will help you to reduce itchiness.
