What do we like?

Do people like to be on their own or be like others? For instance, someone might want to be like famous actor DeCaprio, or someone want to be a great businessman - just say Bill Gates - or someone like him. So, to be like others is good or to be on our own is good?

A person is like a sponge. We sometimes adopt personalities of other people depending on how long we are with them, how much they have influenced us. In fact, sometimes, we become the books we read, or we start mirroring the persona of our favourite characters. But there's always that percentage in us that's totally us and I think we shouldn't be pressured into changing that to please others.

@Theresaaiza Yes, that's true but we sometimes forget our real self and end up trying to be others.

@Spontaneo Yes, and by the time they realize it, it will be too late they cannot come back to their real selves.

I'd like to be on my own. Because we are all unique. How about you?

@JSAph8888 I also would like to be on my own. Still I'm unable to stay on my own real self. But I'm trying hard to make a good comeback.

@JSAph8888 No, not really. But my self-esteem or so-called self-confident is low and I cannot be myself. And I even don't know what I try to be when I'm in the middle of the other people. I still am trying to identify my real self and be on that.

I'd rather be myself now rather than be those other people I'm not aware of.

@Letranknight2015 That's good for you and it's what it has to be. I've seen many people who act to be someone else and forget what their actuality is.

@JohnRoberts That's the bravest statement from you. Be yourself and don't pretend to be someone else.
