Philippines is a democratic country. It has been ruled by an elected president for decades.People are getting used to that until lately when some people including our president are pushing towards federalism.I only have a little understanding about Federal government. What I learned that the government will be headed by the president and a prime minister, and each state will have each own mini-government.Can anyone tell me more about Federal government and your experiences about it.Do you think it is better than a democratic government?

I got a bad feeling corruption will be a lot worse in a federal type of government. We have a hard working President now, but once he's out the new one and his people might abuse the system.

That is true once the system is implemented I also fear that political dynasties will flourish and will make the federal states ruled by one family which is not healthy in the long run. I agree with the main purpose of a federal state giving autonomy to local governments to rule independent with the central government and not be dependent on them, but eventually those dynasties will take advantage of it more to rule their own dominions the way they wanted it. And being in a fragmented country where there are strong regionalistic grouping will be more intensified making fellow Filipinos indifferent from each others since the Cebuanos will be having their own group and others which is not unifying our country. I think it would be disastrious in the near future.
