Are You Still Active in HubPages?

I was a member of HubPages for several years but was unable to submit more articles due to other equally important tasks that I need to do. I have few articles discussing a variety of topics and decided to check my account. I found some earnings even I wasn't able to log in for a long time. I was planning to be active on the site again but just this morning, I received a notification regarding the merger of the site with Maven. I know some of the members here are writing for HubPages and I would like to solicit some ideas about the site. My basic concern is that will it be a good idea to return and start writing again on this site? My topics are usually about general topics, career and online earning. Thank you everyone!

Thank you for dropping by. Yes, HubPages is a great site in so far as writing is concerned and I am a member of the site. About Bitlanders, yes I am doing well there. in fact, I am on rank 2 as I write this post and there are times that I have been on top 1. I am earning well there so I am very thankful to @PinayAko for always posting good things about the site which was the reason why I was encouraged to return. This time, I already learned the strategy in order to earn good amount from the site.

@hereandthere I am planning to do that but as of now, I want to continue with what I started. My experience with Bitlanders had taught me a lot in terms of blogging. I will apply those with my own blogging site.

@ARIES1973 maybe you can also write travel posts with pictures for those who are researching places to visit (locals and foreigners)

I am still a member of Hub Pages. Not planning to go anywhere. They say the merger should be a great thing for Hub Pages and its writers. Will have to wait and see.

Joining forces with other companies can be a great move. I know HubPages is one of the most prestigious online writing sites that I know, so having the chance to write on the site is a great honor for me. But I was starting in the writing field when I joined the site and I was not very confident with my skill. So I discontinue submitting articles. I have very few articles there. I was really surprised when I saw that my articles are still earning. Thank you for the information. I will see if I could start again.

@ARIES1973 I should write something new myself. Not sure what to write about.

I am not active on HUBPages. The HUBs I have are all Featured (except 1). They earn income without me doing anything else and even without people leaving comments. But that's me. To specifically address your concern: Yes. It would be a good idea to return and start writing again at HUBPages. The site is one of the few online writing sites that has weathered the storm. There are some dedicated writers who earn quite well. They have a passion or an expertise and are quite good at expressing themselves in writing. The HUB creation module makes it easy to write an article. Those “checks” when you're in edit mode on how to enhance your content are very helpful. If your HB does not get featured, ask for help or advice with your HUB. They have people who will do a quality assessment to help you improve it. It could prove to be a consistent income stream.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Hubpages. Yes, this is one of the best sites that stood the test of time. I also have a few posts there and that was what I noticed. I am earning passively out of those few posts. Hopefully, I could find time to get back on the site again.

The problem with hubpages is that you put a lot of effort into creating an article, only for it to be un-published for low traffic

@Madshadi Even when I haven't logged in for a long time, I haven't encountered this. I guess we can do something about it since we can promote our own articles.

@ARIES1973 It happened to me and was very frustrating when it did. It's one thing to unfeature an article due to low quality. But to unfeature it due to low traffic is ridiculous.

There was one point where I had some unfeatured due to low traffic. So far I haven't experienced this for a while.

I think it is a good idea to be back writing at Hubpages. Even if you are not so active there, you will still earn a passive income. Since the 2 are merging, the earning is doing good. I visit HP 2 or 3 times a week and I find that the earning are going faster than before. What is your profile name there?

Cinderella14. My main concern is, are they changing any rule related to submission of content?

@ARIES1973 Not really. Just put your photos in full length. No more right capsule because it should be mobile friendly.

The site is accepting articles from members and they share on revenue. There are different ways to earn from the site. I have to return to study the current status of the site. But for me, I am contemplating on returning because we can earn passive income.

@lovebuglena Well actually, I want to see how much I can do. I was not expecting anything fro the site since I only submitted a few articles. But the amount I earned from those articles without promoting has surprised me. Much more if I really do my strategies. I guess I can earn more from there. As of now I am active with Bitlanders and earning 160-200 per month. Since I am doing the same thing, perhaps I can work simultaneously with my different sites.

@ARIES1973 When people on here say you can't earn without doing anything, you can on HubPages. You put in the work and then sit back and watch the monthly earnings roll in. They may not be high but they will come every month and you don't have to do anything.

I haven't really written any articles, although I have commented on a few things there. I have wanted to try to write some articles though. I will try at some point soon.

When I joined the site, my main purpose was to write an article to see where I was at in terms of writing. One of the happiest moments I had was having my article published. Thank you for sharing your thought on this.

I'm also not on hubpages but found many good articles there. How much you earned there so far? Is it easy or complicated?

For me, it is difficult considering that we need to be good in writing. Most of the members there came from English speaking countries. I earned a few cents and that was not every day based on the summary of earnings. I guess I have 4+ dollars now with very few articles.

I heard a lot of good things about this site even before I joined because this is one of the most popular and distinguished writing sites.
