Who's Living in Our House?

Our younger son sent us this photo. He and his wife and both cats, Doodles and Kuma, are living at our house while we are in Florida. He sold his beautiful home, which he bought brand new, and will look for a larger home in a highly rated school district and not too far from us. We like to see each other often.
They are all settled in our home. He rented a pod for the few belongings they wanted to keep. The buyers bought most of his furniture, which is good, since the kids will want new things in their new house.
We are so happy to have them looking after our home in Connecticut. When we return in April, the newlyweds will rent an apartment if need be. Even though we have a large five bedroom home, they do want their privacy.
I don't blame them.

Maybe by then he will have found a house and will not have to waste money renting. ...... LOL, said the landlady.

Our son is so sweet and even when we're home, he pops over three times a week or calls us us almost daily. I'm thrilled they are living at our house and taking good care of it. His bride loves our jetted tub with color therapy. I want them to have it in their new home, too.

It's nice it worked out this way for everyone . . . they can be comfortable and take their time looking for that perfect house - and you guys have a peace of mind about your Connecticut home while you're in Florida. What a cute photo of those 2 . . . they look quite happy !

Wonderful news your son was able to sell his home and the buyer bought most of their furniture!
It’ll be nice to select new furniture once they find the home they want, and that’s a plus being near you both! Best of luck on the house shopping in the mean time, very nice of you to allow them to stay there for the time being.

Hehe yes, this time around your home is warm and not lonely for the four months while you're in Florida. That's good he waited until the right buyer, and offer to come around plus I don't think he was in a rush to sell either.
Now that the home is sold, they can start their adventure as husband and wife to find the home they wish to raise their future children in! Hehehe, my mom even said luckily she only had two children too.

Thank you. The house just sits empty for four months every year. He checks it often for us, so now he won't have to drive back and forth. He had many offers, but held out. He's near the beach which is prime for many people.
We will help the kids when they buy furniture and whatever else they may need as a housewarming gift. That's what we did for our older son, and what you do for one, you do for the other. Same with a down payment on the house. My husband already told the kids that. Glad we only have two kids or we'd be in the poorhouse!

@BelleStarr Aww, that's so sad. Do you FaceTime? Doodles gets so excited to hear our voices. He comes up to our son's phone and rubs it with his furry little face.

My son is a neat freak, thank goodness. I hope that Kuma doesn't rip the couches with her claws. I didn't want to upset my son, but I wanted to tell him to get her off that loveseat!!!!!! lol Doodles is so happy to be there again, but keeps looking for us.

Again, it's very sweet of you to let them stay there til you get back. I would've done the same but know hundreds of people / families who wouldn't.

Thanks! That's little Kuma. Doodles was begging to go out in the frigid temperatures, so the kids pretended not to hear him. They open the door and he backs away. Five minutes later, he tries again, thinking there will be a sudden heatwave. Kitties!
