Do you believe that all men cheat? I think that men just naturally cannot be monogamous, it's in their nature to have more than one women. Do you think as women we have to protect ourselves by keeping tabs on their spouses, such as checking phones, emails etc..?

Any time cheating happens, two people are involved. So the number of cheating men and women is equal, if you're talking about heterosexuals. I've known more cheating women than cheating men, but that may just reflect something about the people I have associated with. Not sure.

I understand that it takes two to tango, but how likely are those women who them men cheat with have spouses themselves. The might just be single women looking to have a good time. In my case majority of the people I know have cheating male spouses.

@avagava21 If two people know they're doing something wrong, both are cheating. Are there really that many more single women than single men?

@TheHorse That is a very valid point. If possible and we were to do a survey, I would say you have more single males than women. I never thought about it that way. Just thinking about it you have a lot more men that are maybe incarcerated or away in the army than you have women, making it a more percentage of single male than women. This is a very touchy topic I wish I had more person point of views on this.

I believe some men, and some women as well, cheat.

Monogamy is not in our basic instincts. For either men or women. Genetic diversity is a time tested, successful survival tactic for any species. So from an evolutionary stand point, polygamy just makes sense. that being said, as a species, we already have a pretty good amount of genetic diversity and it isn't likely to cause us to go extinct. We'll do that to ourselves in some other way long before our genes dry up as a species. No, not all men cheat. Not all women cheat. But not all women or men are faithful either. There are those of us who can over ride that instinct with the "human" part of our brain if we choose. I like to think I've been pretty successful at that, as I have never cheated. But I don't judge people who have of either gender). Nor do I judge those who choose a lifestyle where it is accepted and consensual. For some people, polygamy works. For others, not so much. And that's up to each person to decide for themselves. If it's consensual and it's what makes you happy, have right at it.

I totally agree and understand what you are saying, but however, i am of the belief that women more so than men can be are more faithful. I believe that when a woman really loves a man she would be less likely to cheat but regardless if a man loves a woman or not he would be more likely to cheat.

Yes, many many people cheat. But if we go around investigating on our partners and infringing their private space, then what does it tell about ourselves? What if our partners always doubts us and hires a detective to follow us day in and day out ? I am sure none would like that. If we feel the spouse is cheating us, then the best option would be divorce.

Well, I believe that's true. But I think cheating happens in a certain stage of life of a man. Meaning, some guy cheats during 30's, some during 40's or 50's but not in his whole life.

@avagava21 I think it's has something to do with ego and masculinity. Man is traditionally known as strong, manly , aggressive and that qualities feeds their ego. Their attraction to other woman could possibly begin the moment they feel that those qualities are gone.

That is an interesting perspective, however, i want to know. What do you think is the main reason why a man cheats?

I believe that not all men cheat. But in my opinion they cheat more than women. That's what I saw.

That’s a rather broad statement. Do all men cheat? No, that’s not logistically possible. Yes, a lot of men will, but not all of them. The same goes for women. One may be more prone than the other, but it is not a one sided thing.

I am not in a committed relationship and I am loyal when I am in one. I am single today so I am sleeping around like an animal because one night stand makes me forget I am lonely.

In my opinion men cheat more because of my experience. Also based on some coworkers were actually cheating on their partner. I used to work in a restaurant and the wife will go in the morning then the other one will go and they were proud of it.
