Dancing Little Jesus Parade

Philippines
January 20, 2018 2:09am CST
For the first time in my life I've decided to record this parade which they usually celebrate every third week of January. We called it Sinulog festival, mostly known in Cebu Philippines. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinulog It wasn't a perfect recording or taking of pictures but It was a festive moment and fun. Throwing candies at them was even better specially the kids. But I didn't record when they came back because I know some of them are tired already and I took a nap myself. Have you once enjoyed a parade and decided to record it? I've uploaded it in youtube so some of you interested could watch it.

Is that in your place? or you live in Cebu? We don't practice honoring the little Jesus. I joined this kind of parade when I was a child

Hello @averygirl72 well, it's only recent that I got some how interested on it. Must be nice walking and dancing around the street even though it's sunny.

The Sinulog like the ati-atihan are well known festivals that honor the Santo Nino. If I remember there is also a festival in Tondo, Manila where they parade icons of the baby Jesus in the street. Also somewhere in Bulacan where couples wishing to have children dance in the street carrying the Sto. Nino. I hope you had a good time at the festival.

Hello @josie_ Yeah, I had a good time watching it, at the same time giving out those candies No wonder they're couples on this parade, they're also wishing for kids.

Sounds cool to me, sometimes inspiration makes us do things we do not normally do and is probably one of the coolest things that can happen to someone.

@Letranknight2015 I am happy you did, was enlightening for me at least. Need to see the good because just see the bad from where I am at. Not sure why is but is. No excuses just see it how they show it but always see it how it really is. Been around the world and not even most of our leaders can say that and they still try to lie to me. Its kind of funny.

a good celebration to honor the Infant Jesus. but i read a news clip on FB about how a contestant of the Bikini open in the capital city paraded himself in the midst of those dancers holding Sto. Nino. i think that is a disrespectful act.

Hello @ridingbet Some people out there simply just wanted attention and sometimes it can be disrespectful.

Hello @m_audrey6788 Yeah I think camera recorder was more expensive back then. I agree with you only those who can afford to have it. But now everyone can record it.

I spent my college days in Cebu and yes, Sinulog was part of the experience. It's fun to be in the crowd dancing to the beat of celebration.

Helo @rachz_kisses I agree it's nice to see these people dancing and showing their commitment regardless of the heat weather.
