Out of nowhere

I already knew my vehicle was seeing it’s last winter. A replacement is already waiting in my parents driveway, for warmer weather. It needs some cosmetic and mechanical work to get safetied, and we have to wait for warmer and drier weather.
Well, Thursday evening my van decided to let us know that it’s days were numbered. The back window shattered. Even driving hone from the in-laws house, little bits were falling into the trunk.
Currently there is a garbage bag covering the gaping hole. My dad was going to tape some vapor barrier to replace the bag, but Mother Nature decided to start raining as we went outside to complete the task. He sent me home with an appropriately sized piece and the roll of gorilla tape so i can do it in drier weather.
At this point, I am hoping no other issues arise, as I am not looking forward to the possibility of needing to walk the kids to school during the remainder of winter.

It may just help get the other van on the road sooner. That is if Mother Nature cooperates.

@Morleyhunt for sure! Long drives are not fun in rough weather. Hopefully your trip goes smoothly.

I was lucky enough to have a replacement vehicle given to me before my current vehicle totally gave in. It just needs some work before it’s road worthy.
