Have you ever worked in catalogue jobs?

I came across Avon catalogue distribution which is where you distribute a catalogue and earn a percentage of what you sell. I really like makeup so would be interested in doing this. Has anyone every tried catalogue jobs like betterware and avon? How did you find it? Did you make a lot of income? I am not advertising anything. I am just finding out people's opinions and how they made sales!!

Yes this one operates in UK. Sounds promising as they give you an online shop as well!

@Angela150 Then you should go for it. Do you have to invest any money?

@aureliah I don't think so but they give a 500 credit limit so I am guessing that I have to purchase the product and then pay in the customers cash!

I was a teacher, so never did it. I think it would be fun.

Thats good, teaching must have been a busy profession so no time for catalogues!

Aww ok. This involves selling products in UK and apparently you get to keep 20% of sales and freebies like perfume etc.

I don't do them. People who are friendly and social tend to sell well. For me, its like doing online surveys.... Not worth my time. I'd rather a regular job if I'm gonna invest that many hours regularly. To each their own! Now if it was a hobby I regularly buy a lot of, it makes sense to sell a little and save!

I am not that social but I was thinking it would improve my social skills.

I had a friend who sold Avon for two years, that was her only source of income. She loved it! It is all about network marketing. You can share what you have across social media, join other make up groups and even demonstrate your beauty. Good luck !

@Angela150 I would definitely use those as well instagram to showcase your makeup art as well as items. Or use YouTube and show tutorials.

My mom used to do that several years back (a decade ago, I think). If you know a lot of people and you are good friends with them, you might be able to sell a lot. Just make sure that they will pay . I've heard cases where someone lost money because some friends who "bought" her items did not pay on time or not at all.

Yes I probably will not be selling to friends. I might to to find external customers in a niche area!

I did Avon for a while. You don't make a lot of money with it, at least I didn't. I didn't do it for very long.

Sold Avon and got sales starting with family and friends, door to door in a neighborhood you know isn't too bad. Also good to keep some popular products on hand. But beware of Avon's policies, it can be a racket. And maybe you can pay for things with some of your cash in advance to keep a good credit standing with Avon.

Ok I haven't read much into it about paying for things in advance, I will read up on it!
