I'm going to kill my husband

He just spent like half an hour organizing all of the plastic Gladware and Rubbermaid Takeaway containers (as well as miscellaneous Chinese takeout ones) that we had on one of our shelves.
Ya know what happens with them? They get USED! They don't stay in pretty neat stacks and I don't have the patience to return them to said pretty neat stacks. That's the same reason that the stove top doesn't stay clean. That gets used too!
Unless he wants to do this every week, I don't know why he even bothered. I have no interest in maintaining this OCD system.

I just organized ours too, but that's only because we put a new shelf up.

@NJChicaa Well, id say maybe he was just trying to be nice and help. But it seems like he was just a little ocd about it.

@thislittlepennyearns yeah he never tries to be nice and help. I don't know what his issue was other than being frustrated that he couldn't find the lid for a container that he had.

Doesn't he realize husbands stay out of kitchen cabinets!

Was it OCD that caused him to do this or pure boredom?
My tupperware sits in a plastic crate right outside the kichen (in the den) where it mostly gets ignored. I use maybe one or two of them from time to time, but generally store left overs on plates or in glass cookie jars that double as soup left over jars.
Nothing about the way it is kept is neat.

He was trying to find a lid for a container and he couldn't. . . so he decided to tear the whole thing apart. He must have thrown out/recycled a bunch of stuff because that space was filled to bursting and now it looks pretty much empty--and it isn't just from his stacking stuff up.

@NJChicaa Oh that would piss me off. There is always the possibility that something he threw away or recycled can be used for something else.
We actually have these plastic covers that look like small shower caps, they fit any container and can be used if we don't have plastic wrap or tin foil to cover our left overs. We've lost so many actual lids that getting these saved us a bunch.

Heck, make it his job then. That stove top cleaning is a constant thing, every night! Glass top, I assume?

Well, I guess he got bored with other things. Don't worry he'll get over it and other things once he gets over there again.

My mother is like that. I just throw the plastic containers in the cabinet. But then I can't find the lids to them though.

I have to have mine stacked nicely, if not I cannot find the lids to match. I wiped down the stove top after each use.
