they climbed the mountain and were not careful and burned a huge part of the mountain. it is very sad indeed, since it takes decades for trees to grow read the article for more info:

oh, so sad. In my area, kids keep destroying farmers' silage by cutting holes with knifes into the wrapping. No one can explain to them the value and work behind it. The same happened with this precious ecosystem - home of many animals. Well, we all make mistakes.

I've seen it on Facebook. Terrible. Just like what happened 2 years ago here, when climbers accidentally burned something and MT Apo was destroyed.
