“Don’t give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
Saturday night’s all right for fighting
Get a little action in”
Anyone here with the ability to correct and continue with Elton John lyrics? Happy now, fourwalls? “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” was the first single from John’s biggest triumph “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” The double album is eight times platinum in sales and was #1 in the US and UK. The song is one of the more raucous rockers from EJ and partner Bernie Taupin and charted at US #12 and UK #7. “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” has been covered by the Who, Queen and Fall Out Boy. The clip shows EJ in peak prime form.
This performance is from my copy of the VHS tape. The sound is from the soundboard to make this the definitive version on YouTube.

Sorry, to hear Reggie Dwight is retiring but I think it's time. He hasn't had a hit for years, but he was fantastic in his day!

What is it with you and JJ using these totally obscure people today???
"I'm a juvenile product of the working class
Whose best friend floats at the bottom of a glass"
I really like that line.

not that fighting should be encouraged any night of course, but a great song from one of the best albums of all time

Not too familiar with this song but I rather not fight on Saturday nights.

Great song! That was a change in musical style from previous album hits like Your Song, Tiny Dancer and Levon.
