i love the fact that they look like wolves and i especially love the blue eyes they are such a beautiful breed. my only problem is i like a few different breeds (ok lots) so when it comes time to get a dog (when i live in a house and not a flat) i am going to have issues deciding which to get lol

They're the most beautiful breed of dog IMO. We have one, but I think she's crossed with something else. I want one that looks exactly like Max from "Eight Below".

Huskies are a beautiful dog and have the best temperament. Years ago my cousin (RIP) had a male and female and bred them to have 5 puppies. As they grew older it was their eyes that amazed me the most as some had the brightest of blue eyes but the one (and the father) one almost white eye and a brown one! And they would "talk" or it seemed like it but they do take quite a bit of maintaining and I was offered one of the pups but we did not have the space. I think choosing this type of dog has its rewards.

You are going to have to make a hard decision here tigrashadow. I suppose it will all depend on how much space you have in the yard, how much exercise the animal will need and the time you can give to the dog that you choose. Of course there are also things like washing, grooming, climate where you live etc to be taken into consideration. It will not be an easy choice for you to make but when the time comes, you will find the one that you want. Good luck with it. I don't know a lot about huskies, except that they do need a bit of care and so need someone who is able to provide that for them. :)

We have 2 siberian huskies. Kai, 8 year old red and white male. He has amber eyes that look right through you. He is shedding again even tho it is February. You really need a good hoover with him in the house! Tara, almost 2 years old black and white female. She is a little fireball, full of energy, full of life. She is the fastest mouser that I have ever seen. She can dive into a bush and come out with a mouse, and she slides it down whole. She also loves to pick her own berries, she loves raspberries. She will sit at the side of the road and just pluck them off the bushes. I love huskies but you do need to remember never to let them off lead. My two get 10 miles of exercise a day. I love their personalities. They way they look at you and you can read their thoughts. They are just fun loving fur babies. I love them.

lol that would be cool to see...her plucking berries off the bush.....as for the mousing..thats handy but not something id probably enjoy watching... my friend has a cross breed dog (no husky at all) and omg he sheds all the time so i can imagine what it would be like with a husky....i think id want floorboards if i had them LOL. thanks for sharing

well i have a husky, her name is Akasha.. she is wonderful.. BUT it is the owner that makes the dog wonderful.. i have seen owners of huskies and most of them can't control them.. huskies are normally a very hyper breed, and you have to take alot of time to train them they way you want them and you always got to watch out that they don't run away.. they are very smart but if you are not providing them with a way to use the smarts they can be bad and they hate to be left alone.

thank You for sharing about Your wonderful husky :) unfortunately people often get a breed that they cant provide the right care for (including exercise and stimulation and company) which makes for unhappy and unruly dogs...

I had two huskies, Rusky (the male) and Jewel (the female) they are both gray color with blue eyes. They are very smart and love to run and exercise. You have to train them when they are puppies, if preferable. Because this breed is a working dogs category, they love to run and be the leader of the crew, you have to be ready and aware because when they get out of the fence they probably never come back doesn't matter how loud do you call them. But in general, I do not have any problem with them, they are so loving and faithful dogs. They are not good watch dogs! So, I advise you read and search some information about the breed before you get one, like this you do not have any surprises. You can see my dogs' pictures in my profile.
