This afternoon was a bit mild in the 30s with the sunshine and a cool breeze. The sun had melted from the sidewalks and the streets, except for some snow piles at the side of the road. So it was a good day to learn more from Paige and refine my swimming skills. Though I did get there five minutes early, we started earlier and finished early... which was okay with me.
For warm-up, like last week, I did one full lap with the regular backstroke and one full lap with the elementary backstroke. Then we've worked on the breast stroke. We did 4 short half-mile laps to make up 2 full laps. I do need to work on my breathing some more--just like with the frontstroke--and go a bit slower. Something to work on for next week. (I plan to practice the breastt stroke tomorrow morning after water aerobics with one full lap.)
Then I did 6 back-to-back laps with the regular backstroke and with the turns. Paige wanted me to do a half-lap in the end. But I ran out of steam. So it would be good as it would get for now. I've worked my butt off.
Since we didn't work on my frontstroke today, I'll be practicing it on Monday morning after water aerobics, if the weather's warm and mild. I've sent a text to Rachael to let her know the latest. Same time, same place, same workouts with Paige for both days next week.

The swimming warms you up form the cold outside.

Thanks Lenore. Same way. I prefer the leisure lanes over the lap pool for now.
