Pantry Challenges

Is it time for you to do a pantry challenge? I am frugal. I often do this. Go through your kitchen cabinets and pull out everything that has been in there forever and you still have not used. Go into your fridge and freezer and pull out what has been in there forever Toss everything that has been outdated. Keep what is good in the cupboards and fridge. Write down everything you have left. Then, go to and type in your food items. Shown will be all kinds of stuff you can do with your food. Why keep buying food upon food when you already have a ton? Have you ever done this before?

I don't overbuy in the first place, so I don't have to do this.

I stockpile, most of it I grow and home can so I always have food. I also have a deep freezer. I can stay at home and not shop for food for 6 months. That is a blessing from God to have plenty of food.

That's great that you could go so long without shopping. A huge pat on the back to you.

I would love to have a deep freezer. Think of all the meals you can make ahead of time. Just pull them out of the freezer and heat up.

I usually go through my cupboards and fridge before I buy any new groceries. I don't mind stocking up but I make sure I don't end up having to throw food away.

I did it about 12 months ago. Since then I haven't accumulated things I don't use so I'm pretty pleased about that.

I often rotate so I am not a food hoarder, one that does not eat it just buys it.

My husband always complains that we have too much food in the house. We recently cut out our pantry shelves so that we could reach the stuff at the back, and I was happy to see that there really wasn't anything too bad lurking in the back despite what he thought was there. mostly empty jars and things that I didn't need all the time. The smaller shelves do mean that i don't buy as much though.
