Water is vital to our health. Some studies said that we need to drink 2 liters per day to be healthy. It's important in maintaining normal kidney function and remove waste from our body. Some says that it can also help us in losing extra pounds. However , during cold weather,I seldom drink water.I only get water from coffees and other hot beverages. I think I'm only consuming an average 1 liter during cold season, which may not be enough. I recently got colds this week that forced me to gulp some water half a liter in 3 hrs. That's a good achievement I guess.I hope I can keep it up after my colds is gone. I hope you're getting a healthy water intake. What are your ways to help you maintain enough hydration?

We are told to drink 8 glasses of water a day but that doesn't mean pure water from the glass alone. In my readings, I have learned that we can get that 8 glasses of water from the food we eat like soup, watermelon, oranges. Coffee, on the other hand, is diuretic, which means it makes you lose water instead of retaining one. That's why I don't drink coffee. And green tea is found to be more hydrating for the body and our skin than any other beverages.

That's right,we can take water from food and fruits.Maybe I'll just take more soup because I despised anything cold in cold weather.

@kareemadivina You can take hot green tea in a hot weather. It's perfect plus it has more antioxidant, it's more hydrating than soup, plus it's great for the skin.

@toniganzon Green tea is diuretic the reason why it's good for detoxification of our body.Only 50% of fluid is retained after drinking green tea. When you drink green tea,you have to follow it up with water.

Hey there, On my work, at my desk, I have a glass of water always filled. It's usually hot outside, so the water is always cold. And I drink a little bit every single time I look at it. I tend to believe I drink, only at work, about 10 glasses. I drink more water from other beverages as well and when I'm at home - but not too much. I guess I reach my daily dose of water. I believe you should start implementing alarms or other things to help you drink water. Perhaps one glass of water a day will keep your 2 liters easy - you'd just need eight hours to achieve it. And drinking water is surely a good habit. Regards!

Good for you.I'm fun of drinking water when it is hot but not during cold weather.I'm trying to maintain and increase my water intake. As of the alarm ,I found it annoying to hear all those sounds which reminds me of my alarm clock.Maybe I'll just keep a reminder in my phone without the beeping sound. Thanks for the suggestion.

I know, it is tough to get enough water in at times, isn't it?

It's tough indeed especially during winter, when we only want to drink hot beverages.

That's sad to know.We need water to cleanse body and get rid of those toxins out.Maybe you can take fruits and vegetables with high water content instead like water melon and cucumber.
