One thing I have learned in my 49 years of living is that life is short. We only have one life. God places in us dreams, talents, and interests. We miss out on much of what He has for us because we fill our lives with business. We become consumed with trying to please or impress others. There are just so many things that quench our fires, detour us down wrong paths, or cause us to forget who we really are. My dad always wanted to have a farm. He wanted to raise livestock and grow a garden. He wanted to be surrounded by family and celebrate life together. Some of us were always around him. He was always at family events. He had his small garden, but even to the end, he was talking about his dream of having a smokehouse to make barbecue, and dairy cows, and large gardens. There are things he could have done differently. I want to learn from him. So I have decided to continue on with one of my dreams. I almost let my age stop me. I play the piano and drums, but I have always wanted to learn more. I thought that I am too old to try to pursue my dreams. I am gonna start my guitar lessons again and start violin lessons. I just bought a violin, so with the time I have left, I am gonna pursue the dreams God has given me and use my talents for His glory.
