I caught my brother smoking again. Oh my gosh! It's a dirty, horrible habit. He promised me he would stop but look, he was at it again. Right there puffing on a cigarette. How do I help him realize that he's ruining his health and fouling the air?

How old is he and who owns the place where he smokes?

@mydanods is he already an adult or still a minor? My question was who owns the house where he smokes, you, your parents or your brother?

@louievill my parents own the house. He is 25. He keeps saying he'll stop, now this. I feel for him because it's not easy but his smoking gets into my lungs and it chokes the air.

When the decision to quit won't come from him directly, there's nothing you can do about it.

I hate to tell you he cannot only quit if he wants to.He is ruining his health and anyone around him. Only he can stop.

That's just horrible, it would really kill him some day. But let me tell you this, the more you forbid him, the more he hides it and do it in secret.

He has to make the decision himself. He already knows all that.

Motivate him to stop. If you get angry , that will worsen the situation. This habit can only be quit with self determination.
