Losing Water For At Least 2 Hours

I was outside a little while ago clearing up the sidewalk from the snow. This gentleman came and let me know that they were shutting off the water for at least 2 hours. So, I quickly came indoor and did a few things fast and then, the water just went off. That was not even 10 minutes after the worker told me about it. Needless to say that I am not pleased. I hope that it won`t be longer than 2 hours. It is changing my plans for this morning for sure.

They should have prevented you, what if you had your washer running?

How about if I had been in the shower with the shampoo in my hair.

@marlina Exactly, there are plenty of embarrassing situations that they would prevent informing people a few hours before.

oh no I hope it did not last for more then 2 hours and it came back on sooner then that. I am glad I am on well water and don't have to worry about that issue.

@marlina We are on well water and the pump is electric. That is such a dumb idea, wish it ran on something else.

It would have been nice if they had given you a bit more warning before shutting off the water.

10 minutes was at least enough warning to fill a pail for flushing and a jug I the fridge for drinking. It might be a change of plans, but often I go for longer stretches of not using any water.

@Morleyhunt, True, but you know how it is, we miss the stuff more when we can`t have it ``on demand``

That is truly an inconvenience. So did it come back in two hours or did they keep you waiting for longer?

Isn't it amazing how much we take things for granted when it's there ready for us to use anytime we want, and then how much we panic or get upset when it's taken away from us? When hurricane Irma was approaching Florida last year, government officials warned that the impact was going to be catastrophic, and that people would be without power between a week and a month, and perhaps even longer. They pre-warned us about it. But sure enough, 2-3 days after the hurricane leveled our state, the masses were complaining and nearly starting riots because their power was not back on. You thought people were going to overthrow the government because of it! Thank goodness the military was there to keep calm and order!

They should at least give you time to fill a few containers so you have fresh water if needed. Hopefully all was OK in the end,

They should have announced it a day or two so you can have a good plan of the day. I will also be not pleased in this kind of situation.
