Waiting... How Long is Too Long?

So I'm here waiting for a client to accompany them to the site. We scheduled our meet after lunch. I informed them less than an hour before 1pm that I will arrive past 1pm.
I got to our meeting place around 1:30pm and then I get a text saying they are still on the way. They aren't letting me know where they are exactly even if I ask several times.
Already went to the bank to do some errands and got back to our meeting place and still they are on the way. Ate some late lunch and still no sight of them.
It is now almost 4pm. Have I waited too long for them?

it makes you wonder if they're checking out another site

@owstalaga maybe they're checking out several sites in the same area to save time. like a field trip. or maybe they are also agents like you. who knows?

@hereandthere nope. Not agents. I saw this person looking for a property, asking around. So I said, I can help them out.
Over the weekend we agreed to meet today but guess what happened?

I know right? To think I was calling and texting and asking where they were even before I left the place but nooo they don't let me know what's going on at all. Only when I said I was leaving did my client say oh they're already near the area.

@louievill yeah, i also do online selling and yeah I've encountered people like you did and learned from them as well but this one... Haha. This one is the worst ever.
They indeed do not have a heart. I got no apology at all. At first they did say sorry because it was traffic but then hours went by and nothing. Dear God.
Why they did what they did is a mystery. I got no other explanation except because the one driving had another place they went to. No reason at all. No definite place where it was. Wow.

@owstalaga you better get use to it if you are in sales, I encounter a lot of these types in my shop, they reserve things and promise to come back but they never do, so now no more reserving, unless you are paid or have a down payment, it's the same rule with things I post online. These people do not have a heart, it's as if our time is not important, " pa asa" ( giving false hope)

Yes, you've waited too long but you have to wait for them because it's a client. Contact them again.

I told them I was leaving but then suddenly they replied that they are already near our meeting place. I never got any apology for their behavior.
It's not about who's the client, it's about how you treat other people. If that's how they treat agents who they asked assistance from well i wonder how they will react if THEY had to wait for hours.
Where's the professionalism? As a client do you think they are professional the way they acted?

@rheicel Well I guess you would wait and not care about getting any respect from clients I understand if that is your choice it is fine. But for me, because I experienced how they are rude and unfeeling I will not tolerate such a behavior anymore.
Even if they have the money I won't care to sell to them because I have a choice. People always have a choice.
There are plenty of buyers out there who have respect for fellow human beings that I'd be happy to assist.

@owstalaga If you're an agent and selling something with your clients you have no choice but to wait for them because you don't want to lose sale after all. It's unprofessional if you don't explain why you're being lately it's not acceptable for waiting for someone in long hours but some people don't know what it means being professional.

Yes they know. Turns out the companion who's driving had other places to go to and put me last on the list even though the client informed me we will meet after lunch.

I would say Yes - definitely too long. You have to wonder if it is going to be worth your while to do business with such an unreliable person. It is also extremely rude of them to assume that their time is so much more valuable than yours.

I know right!!! God i got so angry near the end of my wait time but of course I told them that we should just reschedule because of what happened.
And guess what? No apology went into my phone inbox. Just a no thanks.
Yes I wonder what kind of business people they are if that's how they treat agents willing to help them find a property. Pffft.
