End of The Month

My month started off positive as I aggressively hunted for a new job since I was let go a few days shy of Christmas. I had never been let go in my life. The shortest amount of time I had ever worked anywhere was 6 months and I have been working constantly since I was 18.
Being unemployed for the first time felt shameful. I had left a job I enjoyed to take on a new opportunity that had only lasted a month. So I was feeling very down.
I decided to turn around and really focus on improvement. Although I had started working out and eating healthy in December, I was still eating out and only working out 2-4 times a week. This month I worked out almost everyday, cut out snacking, cut out fast food completely, cut my portion sizes in half, drank more water.
Most importantly I smiled more :) Joining myLot at the beginning of the year really helped. I started to reflect on positive things, and really use this as an outlet.
I got the job at a company I have always wanted to work for with an unimaginable pay. It took 4 attempts total, and 4 weeks of a vigorous hiring process. I cannot wait to start later next month!
How is your year going so far?

Oh my 6 months? That is very discouraging. I wish employers could at least compensate you for your time and efforts towards the job. We spend so much time on the application, interviews, assessment. We spend gas money or have to buy bus tickets to go to interviews. Its a lot of investment just to get turned down. They should at least throw us 5 bucks for trying haha.

Congrats on the new job!
My year’s been a rough one, just one month in, with my dad’s health and whatnot, but that’s part of life. I’ll deal with it as best as I can.

I'm sorry to hear it has been rough so far. My father's health goes up and down all the time so I understand how that feels. I hope he feels better and February is a better month for you.
