So you want to write?

So you have some story stuck in your head and you would like to actually write it but like most people self-doubt or time constraints and general distractions from life has left it to doe in your head.
Well there is only one difference between yourself and a published writer; they just put aside personal quiet time and write. Like any skill you need to practice. I can't even tell you how many pages I have thrown away or deleted, but eventually words flow and stories are told. Then have as many people as you can read what you have written and watch them as they read. This will tell you more than words (friends and loved ones will lie to you believe me).
But first and foremost write anything and you will find that telling stories become easier and easier. Well there is no secret to it; just write.

I purchased a book on script writing. One of the oddest things was learning that a single page averages to a minute of screen time; completely at odds with novel writing where there is no standard time to a page.
And my answer to your non-question is: so write a dozen.

Writing groups are good and a great place to get some good real critique of your writing. Take it with a balance heart; where family are too nice people in writing groups sometimes may over dissect because it makes them feel like a writer to catch everything. At the end of the day no edit is a real edit unless it is your own.

Well, now with people blogging about pretty much everything, you can probably find a self-published author sharing his journey. Perhaps you can get inspired...

You are right. I found interesting that when I spend couple days outdoors, helping my granny on her garden, hiking and camping, in the next couple days after I am very creative. But when I stay at home and browse social media, watch tv, chat with friends inside, I am not creatively charged.
