I found this word this morning while reading another chapter in my latest novel. I wonder why this word seems to not fit its meaning.
The word is CUPIDITY.
It means GREED, of all things.
The sentence was: Relatives complained about Mary's cupidity when she refused to share her lottery winnings with her family.
Cupid usually brings to mind Angels. So, I thought about the wicked angels mentioned in the Bible who actually were GREEDY. So greedy, that they left heaven to come down to the Earth and take human women to produce children.
Have you ever read that account in the Bible? It's very interesting. Genesis 6th chapter.
You also might want to watch this 3-minute video which explains what these Angels are doing now, causing all the wickedness we are seeing on the Earth.
Why study the Bible? Find answers to life’s big questions: Is there a God? Will suffering end? See how to get a free Bible study at a time and place convenient for you.
