Although New Hampshire is often thought of as a rural state, this Granite State is one of the most industrialized states in the U.S.
NH holds the first presidential primary.
NH is one of the original 13 colonies, declaring independence from Britain in 1775, by expelling the British governor, BEFORE the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Interestingly, NH was the only colony untouched by the battles of the Revolutinary War.
Nickname: Granite State for all the quarries producing granite.
NH is also a lumber producer, with 80% of the land covered by forests.
Motto: "Live Free or Die"
