Bottled water is not better

Water dripping from a tap

People are afraid taking risks. They want to stay in their comfort zone even if they pay more for doing so. I am saying this because of a trend that is going on here - well to do people are rejecting the natural tap water for bottled water. Only the poor use tap water. I find this strange. I grew up drinking tap water not bottled water. Tap water is clean, healthy and contains minerals. Where is the fear in tap water? I feel that these ones that are rejecting tap water want to feel good about themselves. They want to tell the world that they have made it in life. They have arrived materially. They just stopped using tap water without any reason. Bottled water has now replaced good, God-given tap water. Is it the same trend in your area?

Why not safe? Can you explain? Most tap water have been naturally filtered in the earth's crust. Except your area is polluted.

@taciaelisepeace that's sad to hear. Hear we get it straight from the earth, non-recycled.

@mydanods In the U.S. tap water is recycled. For example here in Colorado we get our water from the mountains, so it is fresh and fairly clean. After we go through our water it gets treated in a plant with chemicals and filtered then distributed to some our surrounding states such as Kansas, Utah, etc. After the water gets used through those states it gets treated and passed on to their states. So states like California are getting nothing but treated water from many other states that used it used first. By that time it does not have nearly as many natural minerals and it had chemicals and quite nasty in taste. So bottles water is much better for them because the tap water isn't as good.

Guilty of this I always buy bottled water when I'm outside. There's no available tap water here in public places so no choice but to buy bottled water.

But if you had a choice would you choose bottled water over tap water?

@rheicel That's a new factor in it all. Years ago, you do not get to hear a lot about pollution, but nowadays, it seems everyone is afraid of it. Maybe that is what is driving so many to go for bottled water and making the bottle water companies a lot of money. But deep down in the earth's aquifers, will the pollutants not have been removed already because that is where tap water is coming from.

@mydanods It depends on the location because nowadays water can easily be contaminated.

I rarely buy bottled water. Where I live, tap water is delicious! Also, i do not want to litter the earth with all those bottles. I buy it sometimes when i know I won't be near tap water, or if I get a bottle free in a grocery order. I recycle the bottles when they're empty by refilling them, freezing them, and using the frozen bottle in my cooler bag to keep my lunch cold.

@mydanods My cat drinks tap water. I fill up my water bottles with tap water and stick them in the fridge and use for lemonade.

The only problem I have with faucet water is the taste.

I mean water from the earth that is drawn with a pipe. Not water stored in a reservoir.

Very good. But where does it come from?
