Dreams...time travel

So random thought of the day... would you say we dream so we don't experience time travel? The way I see it if you don't dream or are aware that you are sleeping then you would experience time travel every day. You would lay down and then wake up at a different time not knowing why. With dreaming your mind is keeping track of time while keeping you occupied.

Dreams takes us to different dimensions...actually making us believe what we see are true.
So, I don't think without dream it would have looked like a time travel. It would have looked too straightforward. Sleep, be plain, wake up..go again

@Amberlily I don't think that would be horrible, but completely emotionless

I don't like the dreams that feel to real, I've had a few come true which creeps me out. But I do think it's interesting that while we are dreaming we tell ourselves that we are in fact dreaming.

Interesting thoughts... But there have been times I have woken up from a nap and can't remember having any Dreams and just wondered where the time went.

Interesting idea!
I think dreams are a combination of things.
Science shows its time for the brain to clean its system, do a reboot of sorts and drop off trash.
Often its reflection of real life events in ways we were not consciously aware of at the time.
I find the stuff with edgar cayce fascinating!

I've never really thought about how our brains work while asleep, so for me my thought process seemed intriguing even though it's totally random.
