Why does everyone want to be rich?

Having money is always better than not having money, I'd rather be the former than the latter, I know how it is to live comfortably so I strive to maintain it this way and not the other way around.

I know right? Money sure is a good thing when you use it right. I am just tired of how people expect me to be rich while I am doing okay on my own right now. So much pressure and expectation on me. This makes me hate money. People judge each other and treat people by how much money one makes as if the value of a person completely depends on that.

I dont believe it can buy happiness but a lot of us deal with financial stress. Making ends meet. Having to work several jobs. Not having enough time or money to travel or explore hobbies.

i think most people just want to be financially stable, wherein they don't worry about basic needs like food, clothing, housing, education, health, and in case something bad happens - fires, accidents, natural calamities, etc.

It certainly doesn't by happiness but it could provide less stress at certain times.

Some people believe that they can buy everything with money ( friends, health, happiness). But this isn't possible. With money you can buy a bed, but not sleep. You can buy meds, but not health. People think that money solves anything. That's why they want to be rich.
