Do you ever take naps? I feel like I could today.

Last night I taught my 7 to 10 PM psychology class. This morning I got up a 5:45 AM to head into Berkeley for work at my friend's preschool.
It was a high energy day, and a good day, but as I was driving home, around 4 PM, I realized I was pooped. I was "resting my eyes" at stoplights, and didn't care what was on the radio.
I've taken maybe five naps since high school (more like passed out in the late afternoon). Once, in college, I passed out at about 4 PM, and woke at 8 PM, not knowing if it was morning or evening.
If I were to lie on my bed with my guitar right now, I think something similar could happen.
Do you ever take afternoon naps?

I’m over 50, a “nap whenever you want” card comes with the AARP membership.

@TheHorse — truthfully, me too. I figure that the cost of the mail they send me every month would more than cover what they’re asking for “membership dues.”
It was just a joke. (Like AARP is a joke.)

I recently got over a two week plus virus that sapped my energy. I rarely nap but three days in a row week before last, I did.

Almost every single day @TheHorse . Mine is brought about by eating. I normally eat once a day and that is at about 1pm. Within about 30 minutes, I'm curled up on the couch with 3 of the cats and out like a light for 2 hours.

@nanette64 What's the best way to end a nap? If I fall asleep, I can stay asleep for an undetermined number of hours.

@TheHorse Sometimes. It depends on whether or not the 2 hours was interrupted by the phone ringing, knock at the door, etc.

There are many days that I would like to nap. Many of my days are high energy. We get out of bed at 5 a.m.. I do try to make it to bed earlier than ten, though. I suspect you are a little younger than I am.

You will rarely catch me taking naps as I don't enjoy it unless my body demands so. But most of the time, my brain wins over my body. The reasons why I don't take naps are one, I would wake usually wake up with a headache and two, I felt that I wasted a lot of time.

@TheHorse Have no idea, probably because my body is not used to taking naps. I always noticed that when I sleep too long (more than 8 hours) I wake up with a headache.

@TheHorse I remember that I researched and there are many causes that can create headaches after the so called power nap. Right now I feel tired and sleepy, but in 10 minutes I have to go to the kitchen and prepare the chicken to place in the oven, this will wake me up.

Rarely, but I often wish I could. I could use more rest in general.

Sometimes I'm able to take a nap. Most of the time I'm just awake but resting and closing my eyes

Sometimes a short nap can make all the difference in how well I function the rest of the day. Especially if I didn't sleep well the night before.

I tend to do "easy things when I'm almost asleep. This evening I finished a speaker surface, glued felt to the bottom of a pair of coasters, and worked on a raft for the kids I work with. I have NOT graded any assignments or done anything else that required real thought.

Sometimes. Yesterday I woke up early and spent time with my kids. I homeschool and I work full time. So before I went in to work, I took an hour and 30 minute nap.
