Strange hours of the night.

I laid on the rec cot a quarter before five in the afternoon. I wanted to rest my back after a long wonderful day with a classmate from high school.
Before long, I drifted to sleep, soundly may be, And I awoke a good half hour after seven. Wham! My brains spiraled into my errand at hand. I was supposed to fetch my daughter at the hospital.
But my body was groggy. I couldn't will it to get into action at once. So gradually, I moved, thinking that if I haste, I would trip and fall.
After changing to driving clothes and injecting insulin, I opened the gates, a frightening feeling crept into my spine. The street was deserted and darkness was a little scary for comfort. I called on Archangel Michael for protection and bravado.
It was a good ten kilometers to the hospital. Halfway through, I stopped for gas. I did wonder why my daughter has not texted to ask where I was. Got the windshields cleaned and the tires checked. It was not the petrol station I usually put gas on but the gas boy was kind enough.
I proceeded to the hospital, thanking the Powers the roads are pretty smooth, the traffic has gone.
At the hospital parking, I texted my daughter that I was already there. She answered right away that she was on duty. She won't be off till the next day.
I was taken aback. My mind was still on the cotbed. My body was still unwilling. My soul was still fearful. And I was long away from comfort zone.
My daughter advised me to take a snack somewhere in the area. But I longed to get home. So, I drove back into the night.
Opening the gates was once scary again. I dashed, with legs weak and wobbly. Once inside, I felt safe.
I heated some chicken soup and sat sipping on my counter, asking what just happened to me.
Sigh.

Exactly the word I was searching: WEIRD.
Thank you for providing the strangest feeling. It was really weird.

Nope. I told my sister about it, and a friend. They suggested that I was just tired. I did hope it was as simple as that.

Yes. That happens really. Though when I was younger, I knew I could defend my self. Not so now. Running is no longer an option. Hu hu
