I have a new best friend.

I'll attach a picture of her smiling when I get one. This is my new best friend...or one of them. She is the daughter of one of my colleagues at my friend's preschool, and has decided that I am her favorite teacher. She is now two-years-old. I've known her since before she was born. We became friends when I asked her if I could share her pacifier when she was about 16-months-old. She held it out to me, I "pretend sucked" it, and we both laughed. Today, as I was rubbing another kid's back at rest time, she came over with her blanket and pacifier, and laid on my stomach. I was on my back. She fell asleep, and I waited until her breathing was slow and regular before I transferred her from my stomach to her mat. She is really articulate (she comes from a smart family) but is always drooling slightly. It doesn't bother me in the slightest when she drools on me. Have you ever had a best friend who is two?

Yes, I had a best friend who was two, my niece when she was a baby girl. One of my cousin drooled when he was young, but the problem auto solved when he was a bit older.

@TheHorse No, it's not a disease, it auto-fixes when they age a little bit.

@TheHorse I've often said that, they have exactly the same knack of getting under your feet thus slowing you down in getting whatever it is they have asked you for.

She is so adorable. Sometime she snuggles next to me and falls asleep. But it was extra fun to have her lie on me and fall asleep.

In general kids of that age they get attracted towards me despite a shabby beard I have on my face! I think they read my eyes and the affection in them ! Your friend is too cute and loves you very much! God bless both of you dear @TheHorse !

So true dear friend @TheHorse, apart from that I think they can read your eyes like the dogs they do if we are friendly or not! Thanks!

A shabby beard can be something interesting to play with. It's all in the engagement, I think. Kids like attention, and I enjoy engaging with them.

Your little friend is cute, pony... Yes, I've had several little friends. Most of the time their parents drop them off with me because they need to be somewhere they can't take their kids and I am home... I don't mind. I usually have a good time chasing them around, feeding them things they aren't allowed to eat at home and telling their parents I get to make the rules at my house!

Feeding things they aren't allowed to eat at home. Gotta love it. When my young (age 9) friend and I go cycling, we do what we want and don't try to turn it into a marathon. Sometimes we stop at the feed store and play with the parrots. He sees it as being slightly "defiant."

She's a cutie and so sweet. You really have a way with those kids, if they can just lay on you and fall asleep. I can't say I have. I don't spend any time around young children.

@Icydoll Heh. We had just gone to her classroom to get the perfect pants for her after her afternoon pee pee accident. As we were heading back to the big kid classroom (which leads to the outside play yard, where she had been), she decided she wanted the perfect shirt to match it. She went boneless when I told her no, but I somehow managed to convince her that we would find a shirt that made a good fashion statement in the big kid classroom. Sigh. My boss appeared just as she went boneless, and I said, "I think a little argument is good for us."
