“Hold Me Now” is the Thompson Twins most successful and highest charting single in the US attainting Billboard #3 and #1 on Hot Dance. The song went gold in the UK at #4. There are a myriad of sounds at play besides synthpop with marimba and latin percussion going on. From the platinum album “Into the Gap.” “Hold Me Now” has been frequently used in movies and television shows.

Nice song! Written by band members Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie who were a couple and later married in 1991. It was based off a heated argument they had and resolved. Nothing like real life to provide inspiration for a "big hit" song.
