Do You Write LOL Too Much?

I think I have a terrible habit of writing the term "lol" when I'm typing on forums way too much.
LOL is the abbreviation for "Laughing Out Loud" ... and half the time I write it I'm not actually laughing out loud, though I do find it funny when I use it.
I think I use it way more often that I should - like almost as a comma or a paragraph. Obviously this is not good writing! I'm a native English speaker and sometimes I think the internet has made my grammar and writing abilities really go downhill!
I've tried to stop writing "lol" as much, but I still find myself doing it!
My other guilty habit? I use a million way too many exclamation points! Like everything is exciting! {When it really is not!}
Maybe I am challenged in trying to actually get emotions across while writing online? Who knows!
How about you? Do you use "lol" a lot when typing online? Not at all? Too much?

I use it alot on forums and in text messages. I think we all use it instead of writing it out. I abbreviate alot of words when I can.

You can hardly see me doing that here in mylot as I'd rather use emotions and even when I'm using my phone and chatting with friends I use iPhone emojis and animojis.
