All Things Belong to Kitties

As I sit in Florida after a small bicycle accident (I skidded on sand making a turn and skinned my knee, and all plans are halted for the day as I ice over the bandages), my kitties sit on my living room couches back home sunning themselves.
Ouch! That hurts more than my knee!
Our son and his bride sold their house and are living in ours while we are in Florida. Apparently, from various photos they've sent, the cats are in bliss having run of the house. That, I don't allow when I'm home!
They look so content and happy, I don't have the heart to shoo them away. I love them too much.
I guess that all things belong to kitties. Oh, well. I think I'll soothe my spirits by eating some of the big box of chocolates my husband ran out to surprise me with. He feels badly for me having that accident, but this too shall pass.

I recently saw a small clip of a dog who isn't allowed on the bed. His owner hid a camera in the bedroom and had it set to record. It almost seems staged as the dog jumps up, walks around for a moment, then straight at the camera before rolling to his belly and scritching his back with the bedding.
Cats are an entirely different breed. They DO own everything, and they are just confident enough to not care what you think.

@DianneN I think that their roles in ancient times (as symbols) has gone to their heads. Now not all of them are so full of themselves, but the majority of cats know how cute we think they are. They use this to their advantage.

Your husband is just so sweet. I am sorry you fell It might hurt when you bend it as it heals depending on how skinned it is. Cats always love basking in the sun My cat and puppy both sleep on the top of the couch cushions like your cats are doing.

Thank you. It still hurts and stings, but I will take some days off to heal. I'll be fine. It's so cute how our animals love the sun, even in the summer! I still am not too happy with my son opening that room to them. They have plenty of other sunny spots. Oh, well. lol

Thanks so much, Ann. I skinned it badly and rode home with blood dripping down my leg. My husband and neighbor cleaned the sand out, but I'll be fine. Just a bit stiff.
Doodles does keep an eye on Kuma. She's like his little fat baby toy.

Sorry for your accident and please heal fast.
Cats are so clever. They can even make you believe that that you own the house.

@DianneN I did have a couple of falls myself when I was younger. Ouch!
Those cats look so comfortable and I think they are laughing. Anyways, they make me laugh when I look at them.

@1hopefulman We all have falls when young, but I was so embarrassed. Someone drove by and was kind enough to ask if I needed help. I pretended that I was as fine as could be and quickly got on my bike and rode home. I didn't even look at my knee!!!!
Oh, those cats are as sneaky as can be. My son must have opened the draperies and now I will not only have pulls in the furniture from their claws, but faded fabric as well! I'm glad YOU'RE laughing!!!

I hope your knee feels better already, Dianne. I am sure the chocolates helped!
Pets have never had the run of my home. They have their place and the rest of the house is mine! (I do make a small exception for my walking sharks. I will let them out of their tank so they can take a stroll across the carpet once or twice a day. They aren't allowed on my furniture but I do get down in the floor while they squeak and nuzzle me.)

@DianneN We don't have cats, Dianne... but if you want me to bring them to your house, I'm sure they would LOVE to 'play' with those cats!

My knee feels stiff and raw, but I'll live. Thank you. The black and white cat is Kuma, the female. So glad that she and Sophie look alike!!!! I close the doors to that room when I'm home, and will slam those doors shut the second I get home!

I love kitties too and i don't have the heart to chase then off the couch. My problem is that I feel so much that a hug turn int a ''squish' and they usually protest 'noooo'!
Did your husband caused your accident and that's why you are getting chocolate?

@DianneN I show my niece the pic and she was impressed how clean the room was and how the kitties were sitting so majestically! We speculated you have to do a lot of vacuuming. As a matter of interest (and maybe I can learn a technique) how do you keep your cats away from that room? To me they literally own all!
Wow, then your husband is priceless.

@Gita17112016 Aww, thanks for showing the photo to your niece. We have a cleaning lady who cleans and vacuums, and to keep the cats away from that room, all I have to do is close two doors.
Yes, my husband is priceless in many ways. Thanks!

Do I hear a meow from those kitties addressed to you "So long then extend your stay in Florida while we have a free run of your house"
Hope that hurt on your knee becomes history soon.

I think you are going to come home to a very spoiled kitty, next thing you know Doddles will make you ask to sit on his sofa.
