When do you feel that parents is old?

You know what, my Mother who passed last year was 91 years old. We all get old, but being a Senior Citizen I like to be treated with respect as I'm sure everyone does at any age. You know a show we watched together taught me something, about aging. Golden Girls is so funny yet it reveals life's lessons to you if you watch for them. At any age people like to be respected and treated as an individual...they will always be your loving parents. It's so good of you, that you'd like to take care of them, in life too, you are a very good Son! Golden Girls episode is of the one that Rose's Mom came to visit her, sorry don't know the title.

I also have that feeling just recently.My mother in her early 70's and my father is on his late 60's.They were old I know but I feel the need to take care of them when home I came for my vacation. I've been working far away from them for the past 6 years and I long to be with them especially these times.I wish I can have a job nearer to them,or better yet bring them to live with me.

China abolish the one-child policy recently. Are you an only child? I feel your comment about needing to be "a pillar of strength for the family an indication of the pressure you are in to provide financially. Many young Chinese adults are facing the 4-2-1 problem where they not only have to provide for their parents but grandparents as well.
