Very senior charity workers using prostitutes in earthquake hit Haiti?

A news story breaking in England right now is that of the charity Oxfam. In the current climate of the Hollywood and parliament sexual abuse cases in the U.K an old story has serviced about some of their senior male charity workers using prostitutes abroad when working in war and disaster zones, specifically Haiti and Chad, some of the girls under age. Today the second in charge at the international charity has resigned as she was in charge at the time of the bad behavior and she allowed some of the guys to leave and go to other international charities without telling them about their past with prostitutes. If you are on the ground and helping vulnerable young women in the day time with aid and stuff after a big earthquake and then out at night sleeping with them it does not look good on Oxfam. It’s a story because the men are white, middle class and middle aged, the people the world looks up to for help in a time of crisis. It’s not unusual across the sector. You can’t blame the young girls for offering their services in a dirt poor situation where money is tight and their houses may have been ruined but you can certainly blame the men. Some are suggesting some of these men joined the organisation so to exploit that trust. It’s pretty disgusting. For too long the big international charities have tried to become businesses and raise as much cash as possible, some of that increasing salaries. Their shiny new white four wheel drives with their logos on often remain in secure compounds in disaster zones as the westerners sub contract out the dirty and dangerous aid work to the locals whilst the west swig beers and play jenga in the compound. UNICEF and the like are notorious for staying in those compounds so their multinational charity workers don’t get injured in the field. The big charities love to rush to world disasters and be first thee so to get those logos the TV cameras and newspapers to increase donations but ironically it’s their kit at the airports and docks and roads near disaster zones that often hinder the efforts by blocking everything up. It’s kind of pathetic in its own way. They don’t seem to want to work together to make it work. It’s all about being seen and big TV appeals with celebrities now. Think of the extremely brave work Med San Frontiers did with Ebola and now these perverts are going to hurt Oxfam’s great work with a drop in donations, money that was being spent on hoars...

So much to say. This is another example of people on charge not being responsible leaders and just firing ,reporting or both the people involved.

The big charities are no more "charities", they are only big companies trying to make money. What happened is a shame.
