We are being watched on the internet

United States

I know this has been discussed before regarding ads and google maps. I just wanted to add that Facebook is pretty spooky too. When I moved to Colorado I had shut off all social medias for a while. I hadn't discussed online about moving at all, I never post anything with my location, nor did I use gps to move. After I reactivated Facebook, I still didn't update where I was for a few months. Once I did, facebook automatically set the date that I moved to 12/16/2015, the exact date that I moved to Colorado. How does it automatically know that? Strange.

The internet is watching every thing we do. Also the government is watching everything we do. We are all prisoners of the country right now. Unless we wake up and do something to change things, we will all continue to be sheep and follow the madness.

@taciaelisepeace Exactly. But we do have to go against the so called norm. That is the only way things will actually change.

Its true! Unfortunately you're seen as crazy if you go against the norm and believe that we should do something about it.

What bothers me is if the information Facebook has gets into the hands of politicians. They could use it to manipulate people. Just a thought

It is true, I noticed that they make contacting politians easier through facebook. It would surprise me at all if they send our info to them as well.

@taciaelisepeace It is all about making money these days. When the whole scheme backfires, like when the Russians use the same internet to help a candidate win, that is when the politicians complain. They love playing with our information.

Your IP number changed when you moved, so facebook probably automatically collects that information about your new location, and when it changes.

It is on the ip adress where you are internet connected. Every ip has adress too. But dont worry, as long as your gps is off, it wont know your exact location. Just you approximate place I think.

I think mobile phone is the culprit here. Some phones show up the location of the person we calls. If the person moved to another city then we can know it from the mobile.

I have noticed that too! If you want you to off the grid, you can't have a cellphone.

I think as soon as you begin your activity in fb you are in the radar. Our mobile phones give us away our location every moment.

Once you have an internet presence, however large or small, companies/sites collect data. It is theoretically possible to vanish from the net but it will take a long long time depending upon how active you have been. There are companies out there, some legit others not so much, that will vanish you but it can cost a lot. You may find this article interesting...to be honest though some may need to go into other areas of the net and hire specialists if they want to truly vanish.
Is it possible to delete yourself from the internet? The answer is: yes. But it's not easy. Find out everything you need to do in our step-by-step guide.

Thanks for sharing this! I have often wondered how to delete the majority of your info that is out there. I agree you probably have to know a powerful hacker to completely vanish.
