Lotto Find Results

Not sure how many of you remember me finding lotto tickets that other players tossed out? Well... When I was homeless...I did that a lot to survive, while I was living in Texas.
I kept track of my winnings, but when I lost all my possessions, of course I lost track of those winnings, too.
I decided to do the same thing, since I moved to Florida. The amount does not even come close to what I found in Texas...but still not bad, for an extra chunk of change.
Here are the results, starting with the year 2016. In 2017...I did not try as hard. For some reason...I could not get enough mojo to get going. But I still did not do too bad. And this year, I have almost half what I made the entire year in 2017; and we are just hitting the middle of February.
Not sure if the trend will continue, since I lost 4 major businesses, where I used to get the tossed tickets. (Long story)... That is why I say, not sure how the results will tally at the end of the year. Which is also why, I am trying to hit new territory.
I know it sounds crazy, and all...but when you only live on $750 a month, you do all you can to get by. And since I am unable to work, this is how I bring in extra cash.
I have never once stood on a street corner, and panhandled. I treat what I do...like I am going to work everyday.
There is a lot of wear on the tires, plus all the gas I spend...but I still come out ahead, in the long run. Some months more, than others.
Some days I go out, and find zippo!!! I did that for three straight weeks, earlier this year... It was very discouraging. But all of a sudden, it began to pick up!
Basically... It is like working on commission. Sometimes your sales are good, and sometimes they are not.
Anyway... Here are the results, starting with the first year:
2016 - $1,750.00
2017 - $1,493.00
2018 - $730.00 (AS OF FEBRUARY 12TH - Like I said...not bad. Since I have collected almost half of what I collected, in 2017.
One more thing... I told you that my day ended well, after the horrific ordeal I had, with locking my keys in the car.
Well... Earlier that day I had found $30. But after the ordeal, I was so discouraged, I decided to take a drive to the beach...and Whalla!!! I found a bunch of $2 scratch-offs...and one of them happened to be this $50 winner!
How the player did not see this, I will never understand. But it was lucky for me. All in all...I found $80 yesterday. Today... I was not so lucky, because I only found $4. It basically covered the gas I used. Better than coming home with nothing.

Of course, it is individual taste and decision, but Wagering or Bettings are not for me...I think easy money never works for me...that is why though I am very much closed to Horse Racing I never take a bet on any horse! Thanks dear @teresatrotter! All the best!

I used to do that as a child. Back when littering was clamped down on as much there used to be a store where loads of scratch cards used to be thrown on the ground. My Mom would go crazy with me looking through all these tickets believing that they were on the ground because they were non winners. That was until I found £20 on one. Then she joined in when we went for the weekly shop.

Well... I go a step further, and looked at the ones that have been put in the trash. As long as they are still clean, and usually the ones on top. If it has crap all over them, I leave them.

Yeah... But lately I have not been so lucky. I have a bald tire, and I have not found but maybe 5 dollars in a weeks time. Barely covers the gas. I don't have the money for the tire. I have no idea what I am going to do.

Yes, it must be very hard for you. Good for you with what you have won. I have never won

@Hannihar - Sometimes. But today I found nothing. So discouraging. Spent a lot of time on the road for nothing. Do not have enough to pay the rest of my rent. Car tires going bald. And sometimes...I am in extreme physical pain, that it is hard to get out of bed. But I have to try.

This is cool and inspiring. Do people just drop them in the lot or do you get these discarded ones from the employees at the store? It is pretty wise to take a look for them!
I once knew a wealthy man who watched for coins dropped in the mall. He saved them in a jar and donated a nice lump sum each year. Interesting!

@Rajo14 - It is because they did not realize they won. I highly doubt anyone would deliberately not want to cash in a winner. Most folks just get in a hurry, and do not pay attention.

Employees are not going to give up lotto tickets, if they think they are potential winners. That is why I never tell anyone where I find them. I usually find them on the ground, or tossed in the trash.

Makes sense. I have never purchased one and wouldnt even know how or what to do with it if I did.
It's just remarkable that someone would go to the trouble and then not get the cash they won.

I win small stuff. But since I am not spending any money. The only thing I lose is gas, and time.
