i know the tales.it has som many versions.but i dont know who is the author

The earliest version of the story originated in China around A.D.860..It appeared in a book "Miscellaneous Morsels from Youyang" by Tuan Ch'eng-Shih...The best known version however was written by a French author Charles Perrault in 1697..his version was loosely based on a folk tale written by a writer called Giambattita Basile in 1634...

The oldest version I know of that I learned in my folklore class was written by the brothers grimm.
